@kermodeandmayo.bsky.social Went to see If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. Thought it was a fantastic (though stressful) film. A woman two seats down had a small emotional support dog with her. It abided by the code and was very quiet. I wish I could have had one during the film's more stressful moments!
@robinince.bsky.social Just finished the Mark Steel podcast - two delightful hours. Honestly I absolutely loved that. Thank you.
Enfeebled?! Really?!
Oh Mary I’m so so sorry to read this. Sending you lots and lots of love. The digital space is poorer without him. Sending you courage and strength over the coming weeks/months.
Top 5 (in no order): Sorry Baby, Sinners, Ballad of Wallis Island, Nickel Boys, The Ice Tower
Worst 3: The Roses (AWFUL! My 91 year old dad's comment half way through was "I want to die"). Caught Stealing (too violent for me), Jurassic World.
The line “vote for us or you’ll get the far right” doesn’t really work when the policies you’re enacting are barely distinguishable from what the far right propose.
@jeffsmithmp.bsky.social regarding the new asylum plans, all I have to say is REALLY? Where is the compassion? Keir Starmer’s Labour Party is worse than the Tories. At least they didn’t pretend to be anything other than Tories.
Pleased that my latest two #mindfulness #meditation in nature practices are now up on my Insight Timer profile (search for my name) and the Manchester Mind meditation resource page. www.manchestermind.org/meditation-and-relaxation-resources/
It was terrible. The only thing in its favour was that I had a delicious 20 minute nap in the middle.

My niece is in this video, (heavily pregnant), and so is my great niece. So proud. It’s a great campaign
To be fair, that's how most of my meditations pan out.
Materialists was great, but ignore all those and go see "Sorry, Baby". A fantastic first feature - poignant, moving, and funny. I found the tone perfect @kermodemovie.bsky.social (you were unsure I think), and loved the symbolism of windows/doors throughout. One of the best films this year so far.
Some of my favourite meditation practices are those that take me outside. Today I did some mindful walking in the sunshine in the park, and a seated practice on a bench, taking in the sun on my skin, the cool breeze on my arms, and the tweeting of the birds. Being present brought me so much joy.
But also - they're clearly paying a lot for those places - I mean, did you see the inside the pad of Helen Mirren's character? I doubt a property developer would make any more from that place than they're getting now! I didn't buy it at all.
yup, absolutely!
yeah, I failed that one today after a really good run
This is great news. Thanks to everyone for taking action. :)
It was always Extreme Noise Terror!!!
Oooh! A dark and stormy. One of my fav cocktails
Looking forward to doing my first Instagram live on Monday at 1pm with Rachael Crystal from Manchester Menopause Hive. Will be doing it from the Manchester Mind account and talking all things menopause and mindfulness.
It's gorgeous! yes! :)
Company of Wolves - saw as a teenager, and then went and read Angela's Carter book, the Bloody Chamber, and her feminist retelling of the classic fairy tales.

yeah... that was a travesty!
Can't protest genocide. Can't garden. Is there anything we ARE allowed to do without being branded a terrorist?
Also doing my civic duty by objecting to the new plans for Chorlton Precinct - shortly going to the planning committee. These are RADICALLY different to the plans that local communities were asked to comment on. Very sneaky.
Another day, another email to my MP @jeffsmithmp.bsky.social Shocked and appalled that protesting genocide in Palestine can now get you arrested - and how police are treating protestors as if we're the terrorists.

💫 Small, restorative breaks throughout the day can do wonders for your mind and body. Step outside, breathe deeply, or close your eyes for a few minutes. These tiny moments of calm can help you reset and recharge.

It worries me that protesting genocide is now basically illegal. This is becoming a police state (if it's not already).
