Existential Dread Yesterday, like many of you, I read about Jack Dorsey announcing the end of employment for 4,000 people at Blocks after a strong year of profit increases. It's another splash in the pool of anxiety engineers and creatives alike are swimming in as we watch the astoundingly fast evolution of AI agents. Rumination How do we process this? Thousands of our career-siblings loosing the employment that our society is structured to make non-optional with a well-meaning "good luck" pat on the back from the people who just hired them. If you feel offended at this statement, and move to defend it as "the way things go in business", I understand.

Today, we remember the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and honor the survivors who shared their stories so we never forget. "Never again" isn't just words—it's a commitment. With antisemitism rising, we can't be silent. We have to stand against hate wherever it appears.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to remember the six million lives lost to hatred. We must not only remember; we must also resolve to end antisemitism and all forms of hate and invidious discrimination. "Never Again" must be a lived reality, not just a phrase.

I don't spend much time on social media, and when I do, I typically see stuff that's working for gender equality. I didn't realize how much money people are making on boosting crap patriarchal misogynist content, but this demo from Australia is concerning:

And I’m not just talking about “oh I respect their right to breathe as humans”.

I’m saying they deserve society pausing long enough and thinking deeply enough to understand how sex work, trans or straight, is important healing work that society needs but systemically abuses.

Sex workers are people who deserve respect.

Trans people are people who deserve respect.

Trans sex workers are people who deserve respect.

It has taken me a very long time to see and understand this. But I do now.

Almodovar’s legacy reminds us why preserving history matters:

🌎 And it connects today’s fights against censorship & debanking to struggles decades old.

Oh man, we’re probably fucked, aren’t we?

Come on Tim Cook, don’t do this butt kissing gold statue gifting crap. Don’t play his playground-bully emotional game of favoring those who make him feel big, feel powerful. The way out of this is for the people in the positions of power to refuse to play.

If people's don't think of their own words and promises as meaningful, there is no way to accommodate them once they're in power. You have to resist them HAVING power. They will compromise and betray every institution that negotiates with them.
