The inconsistency between being pro-life and pro-death penalty at the same time. I was in high school
It's a small park, but definitely worth the stop!

In a hotel room, a brick wall that has obviously had a huge hole repaired
Pretty sure the Kool-Aid man stayed in this hotel room once
I'm sure they infuse it themselves
I enjoyed it! Super light pistachio flavor.
The pistachio was light and fun!
My training kicked in and I did not proceed into the soft sand and mud. π
The described cocktail in a tom collins glass with a dark beer in the background
Still road-tripping and I'm not driving, so I can have this amazing pistachio mai tai! Pistachio-infused rum, zapaca rum, cointreau, lime, pistachio orgeat, and a white chocolate garnish. It is BOOZY, friends!
The sign reads "Warning, Soft sand and mud" and it is by an ocean inlet. It displays a stick figure of a person stuck in the ground
Quicksand sign, what?!!
The joy of learning is why I chose UCSC and its pass/no pass system for my bachelor's degree over UC Berkeley. Esteem and constant competition? Or learning for love, with beaches and redwoods? I chose right for me.
A lot of people shared great memories when we told them we were headed here. Seems like a popular spot! We enjoyed its charms today, but have to leave in the morning.
Thank you! Newport, Oregon.
A sunset at the beach with a stream going to the ocean
Last early sunset of 2026. This time tomorrow, I will be jubilant that the sun still has an hour to shine!
DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."
But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."
A very tall hamburger with lots of visible onion strains, lettuce, and cream cheese with fries. There was also ginger lemon marmalade on it.
Behold! A Yaks on 5 OMG Burger and their super fun decor. I'm very glad my husband and I have reached the stage where we know splitting a plate is sometimes the wisest choice. ππ½οΈπ
These are the 4 things AI can do well:
β’Clean up your email inbox (badly)
β’Give my shittiest neighbor (Alan) something to talk about at a party
β’Tell a 12 yr old to kill himself
β’Incinerate a school at 10:16 AM on a Tuesday
You can see why we need to base our economy around it
I am glad we're doing it. π It's been too easy to talk myself out of being silly lately.
My husband and I in front of a large metallic bird
My husband and I in front of a waterfall
My husband and I in front of a Trappist monastery
My husband and I in front of a giant olive
Yes,yes this is what my husband and I picked to do to celebrate our 20th anniversary - take pictures with my bridal veil at roadside attractions and landmarks.
Purple flower
I got one of those recently too!
Food is not the focus, but it sounds like we'll at least find some ridiculous hamburgers and taste wine at a monastery.
Thank you! We shall have some grand road trip adventures.
A fave combo!

This is a great pairing for tonight's Story Hour reading! Go watch 'em at 7pm PT! I'll be packing for my 20th anniversary trip instead, so go on my behalf!
Although I still have to look up the differences between sake rice polishing grades every time, I enjoy reviewing them for my blog! Here's Gekkeikan Black & Gold, a Californian sake you can find at most stores: thegourmez.com/blog/2026-03...
