Fardon and Mermul are flying normally as they are out of range of the Hunters. Mermul: "Sir Fardon, why exactly DO the Hunters have such a problem with us?" Fardon: "Surely this isn't your FIRST brush with them? You're no hatchling... I assumed you were a refugee FLEEING them. Some minor tribe in the wilds or something...?" Mermul: "Pretty much. I've been living in Arcaia for the last few months, but back where I originally came from, nobody really questioned WHY Hunters do what they do." Mermul: "Dragonhunters were a problem, sure. They killed us, we killed them back. But nobody ever asked how we GOT here. The hatred seems a bit too widespread and ingrained to be a simple grudge." Fardon: "It's a bit of a broad question. 'Hunters' is a bit of a catch-all term anyway, but I can go over SOME of the reasons."

Mermul and Fardon are out of danger in Pax Draconica.

Miraak prepares to torment Fahdonmul before devouring his soul. Miraak: "I will enjoy your soul, worm. But first... BOW BEFORE ME!" Miraak Shouts the words "GOL HAH DOV" (Earth-Mind-Dragon) which is the spell he's used to brainwash the other dragons into doing his will. Fahdonmul is hovering inside one of the purple force bubbles from Morrowind. Fahdonmul's force bubble reflects the Shout back at Miraak, with the white/purple star effect from Morrowind. Miraak is staggered as he enslaves himself. Miraak: "...UH..." Miraak stands in front of Fahdonmul motionless and obedient. Fahdonmul, with the reflection spell fading away, gives him his final orders. Fahdonmul: "Miraak, I hate to do this, but your evil must be ended. Close your eyes." Miraak: "Yes, Thuri" (my lord) Fahdonmul cranes his neck and chomps down hard on Miraak, killing him instantly The other two dragons, Relonikiiv and Sweet-Roll-Devour, stare at him in amazement and confusion as the mind-control spell enslaving them is broken.

Where I come from, they chop your HEAD off for doing that! It's one of the only capital crimes left in Daryil's realm!" Quirk: "Uh... Either that's some kind of translation error, or... Weren't you talking about WITCHES earlier...?! SURELY you don't believe in that! You're a ROBOT! You're from an advanced technical civilisation!" Lautrec: "Oh, I'm from another universe. That has magic AND technology. It's weird... Skyscrapers and tech in some areas, wooden huts and swords in others. And to further confuse things, my basic design and tech was stolen from yet ANOTHER universe... Which they visited by magical means." Xerian: "Lautrec is telling the truth. I was dropped into his universe by a powerful multidimensional entity to perform a task for them. I've seen ample demonstrations of their magical prowess, including soul-transfers. That was... an experience."

Lautrec asks about the Emperor and promptly gets sidetracked in Xerian 2.
