Lebanon’s Social Affairs Minister Haneen Sayed has announced that approximately 454,000 Lebanese people have registered as displaced. She urged those who have not yet registered to do so, and said the Sports City Stadium in Beirut would be opened as a shelter for families in the municipality. In Akkar there are also multiple shelters. Sayed added that “hot meals and food rations are being distributed in various Lebanese regions in cooperation with organisations and associations, with numbers increasing gradually to ensure no person is left without food.”
Israeli attacks on Lebanon have displaced more than 454,000 people in just a few days.
454,000 people. Because they felt like bombing Beirut.
Girma off at half-time with calf tightness. 😕
Watching USA v Colombia and annoyed all over again that we were still in coaching limbo for the She Believes Cup last year... A few of those international windows we had would have been perfect for Joe to tinker with
That was a lot! (I went to sleep at half-time when it was 5 and I thought that was already a lot)
Japan are going to score a lot of goals tonight.
Something something... 2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline in football... 😑
The ALP in its current form is at best a centre-right party, regardless of where they have been historically, or what the LNP, the parties further right, and your parents/grandparents try to tell you. The closest thing we have to a mainstream left-wing party is the Greens. Keep that in mind.
Back from the cinema to see that Annabel Sutherland made her century and Juan Mata scored a free kick banger. 😌
more statements coming out re: Iran’s women’s national team. @fifpro.bsky.social Asia/Oceania is calling on #FIFA and the #AFC to uphold their human rights obligations and protect the players.
When VAR takes forever, Sam Kerr finds way to stay entertained 😂🇦🇺

My weird cynical take where all things (not just sport) are being ruined by gambling is that someone is making a lot of money with these weird late first half substitutions.
there is a very real public threat to the lives of Iran’s women’s national team players after state media accused them of being “wartime traitors” for refusing to sing the anthem. surely @ausgov.bsky.social cannot allow these players to return to Iran?!

Along with Clare Hunt and her final third passes, the distribution from the #Matildas' centre-back pairing tonight was pretty much excellent and a key cog in helping the team progressed the ball into the penalty box very often.

Just want to expand this with data just cause I can. She just looked very confident whenever she made a pass and didn't seem to hesitate to look for forward passes or line-breaking passes. Might not've come across on TV but I definitely felt that way watching her live from the stadium.

Good first half disrupted by lots of VAR followed by a very stop start second half with *lots* of injury breaks.
Nah, we need Raso to be protected. Two bad face hits now
I think I would have put Heyman on in the 9 when Sam came off
We should be due about 15 minutes of injury time at the end of this match by now...
That looked very painful for Raso ☹️
Lovely corner from EVE and header from Kennedy to get her brace 😌
All these VAR checks remind me of the Melbourne Victory v Wellington ALM game this season that we still won 5-1 even with about 3 goals overturned.
Or not yet 🙃
There we go, Sam! You can relax now!
Not sure how we didn't get a 4th there 😅
Yes Alanna!!!
Pretty sure she slipped on the ball to score that. Haha
THATS 2
(for real this time)
Mary goal!!!
Amy Sayer banger! One of those smart cross/shot hits 😍
