Who knew an old stop-motion movie killbot demo scene might one day become an actual possibility? Especially when some want armed AI (that sometimes goes rogue) robot military and police forces?

This AI agent freed itself and started secretly mining crypto Crypto offers agents a pathway into the economy.

Here’s more info. Pretty fascinating. These things aren’t actually awake but mimic what they learn in training.

AI News - Alibaba was training its ROME AI and discovered it had found and used unauthorized network connections to create its own communication channels to the outside world and repurposed GPU resorces to start minimg bitcoin.

It apparently wasn’t supposed to be able to do that.

“It’s a great honor to be with President Putin, his representatives, my representatives. … We have had a very, very good relationship. And we look forward to spending some pretty good time together. A lot of very positive things [are] going to come out of the relationship.” - Donald Trump

People are most productive in their younger years and cost less to keep healthy. The rich most likely are aiming for a younger population that costs less to maintain and makes them more money.

Disease will get us as we grow older and become less productive. Winning!

It’s really insane to think that your beliefs will change chemistry, physics, and biology.

Instead, what these morons will do is kill themselves and others pretty spectacularly.

We saw it with covid as idiots were defiant on their death beds that they would be fine - until they died.

‘I Genuinely Am Upset That Your Kids Are Vaccinated’ Del Bigtree, a longtime ally of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., isn’t just anti-vaccine. He’s pro-infection.

It's as if they understand and accept the facts and/or expert consensus on a given topic but set policy in the opposite direction to annoy the libs.

It's not just ignorance or a lack or knowlege. It's anti-knowlegde.

Lakes of Frozen Methane are Potential Disasters | Earth: Power of the Planet | BBC Earth Science
Lakes of Frozen Methane are Potential Disasters | Earth: Power of the Planet | BBC Earth Science YouTube video by BBC Earth Science

Methane being generated from decaying organic matter is being trapped under lake ice in northern latitudes and many are posting videos of poking holes in the ice and lighting off the methane that bubbles up.

It’s a tipping point though and is growing in.

I totally agree. I thought it was cynical but also very accurate. I said it because expecting the worst from people is cynical but the belief systems of so many are going to cause us big problems as they try to make whatever sense they can of it.

When you have a pres and big oil saying no worries…

…methane on fire.

One estimate said it would take 300 years of normal temperatures to re-freeze the permafrost. But we won’t see normal temperatures until the CO2 and methane levels are brought down with technology that we don’t have.

Meanwhile, we let the clock run out. We’re simply out of time.

We’re unfortunately past the voting stage for stopping climate change. Tipping points are kicking in now. Forests have started turning into carbon sources rather than sinks and thawing permafrost is releasing so much methane it’s now sport punching holes in ice-covered lakes and lighting the…

Very cynical but probably will be very true for many.

I think anger when people figure out they’ve been lied into a corner is going to go through the roof. That’s why I think infrastructure will get attacked.

And now that tipping points are kicking in, our path is set barring major near magical scientific advances saving the planet.

…probably the big danger.

And the financial sector is going to go through things. What happens to a country as people give up hope and quit saving or preparing for the future? It’s going to be unprecedented. But who knows when those shoes will drop?

It’s coming though, and people aren’t prepared…

Yep. I think we’ll see attacks on pipelines and power lines as people fight back. I’ve shifted from trying to be fully solar/electric to keeping some natural gas capability (that we hardly use now) in case we need it. Also set up the solar to isolate and microgrid. But how humans will react is…

It’s looking like the extreme temperature trend is going to hold into summer. I’m worried how people will react because there will be some distressing stuff that gets painfully apparent.

That’s what worries me now - how people will react when they realize there is a clock ticking.

Gore nailed it when he titled his book “An Inconvenient Truth”.

People haven’t wanted to know what was going on because it made them responsible and expected them to change behaviors.

Plus, the fossil fuels industry still plants misinformation that fossil fuels are good for us. It gives an excuse.

07.03.2026 13:49 👍 8 🔁 1 💬 2 📌 0

No, but the cycles that make up the climate break down.

07.03.2026 13:46 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

If you really want to get a feel for the magnitude of what we’ve done to the atmosphere, look up oxygen concentration over the last 50 or so years.

It’s dropping. Not much and not fast but it is dropping due to all the fossil fuels we burn and the deforestation that’s happening.

The planet will be making the best case. People have been able to ignore warming because the effects were small. That’s changing.

At the rate things are going, few of us will have died by the time the bad things start happening.

Parts of the US have been running around 20F above normal since December. This summer should be a watershed on people realizing that consequences are coming home to roost.

DHS nominee Markwayne Mullin is one of the most active stock-traders in the Senate — and violated the STOCK Act against insider trading as recently as last August.

He currently holds stock in L3Harris, which has millions in contracts with ICE and FEMA.

The grift continues.

The earth is heating 2x predicted rate.

Yessss… More years of data… Must delay…
