Giving war updates from the beach house on the same social media platform he’s using to share racist AI videos, and I can’t say that I have any faith in anything currently going on in the world.

Circling back to this to say the Autumn Glory apples are filled with empty promises and disappointment, and Cosmic Crisp remains in my top spot.

It’s always puzzling to me. Is it because we’re at or below sea level that cars are just more flippy here?

Cosmic Crisp has me in a chokehold, but I picked up a bag of Autumn Glory apples at Sam’s this weekend. I haven’t tried them yet.

And it’s mostly about how they open each other up to new worlds by getting to know each other, with information about accessibility sprinkled in. It’s really sweet.

The other anime I’ve started watching is A Sign of Affection, which is about a college student who is d/Deaf and this is her first time going to a school not for hearing impaired. She falls in love with this other student who knows a bunch of languages & is learning sign language to speak with her.

How I feel dropping off my recycling, even though I suspect it might all be going in the same pile as the trash.

It really is.

This particular episode is focused on prepping a moped for a longer road trip to a camping destination - doing all the maintenance and installing new accessories like a windshield. It’s about as low stakes as it gets.

Also, it seems like Japan has a lot of great places to camp, many within walking distance of public transit.

They go on a lot of walks, read books, and cook food over the campfire. Much of the show is focused on outdoor cooking. The girls also like to visit various hot springs bath houses and try the local cuisine.

My favorite new way to unwind after a long work day is to watch Laid-Back Camp on Crunchyroll. It’s an anime that’s just about a group of friends who go camping, sometimes with others, sometimes alone. And there are helpful camping tips sprinkled throughout the show.

So many! One actually complimented me on my costume. 🤯🤯🤯

I hated to do it because I’m trying not to shop on Amazon, but it all came from Amazon. I wanted to use live plants, but everything was dead from the recent freezes. I had long sleeves and pants on underneath, so that wasn’t bad, but my nose was rubbed raw from the plants!

Ooooof, that sounds particularly early and arduous for Ash Wednesday!

I need to do that next year.
