Never forget that Netanyahu was headed for ouster and possible jail time before the genocide in Gaza

Stop literally everything.

So, what's the difference between $680,000 and $1.5 billion?

About $1.5 billion.

"We're in it" means you can just start whatever illegal war you want and then no one can stop you.

Investigators now say the U.S. likely bombed a girls’ school in Iran, killing over 160 people, mostly children. If confirmed, it would rank among the worst civilian massacres of America’s Middle East wars.

Time series plot depicting predicted Nino 3.4 region ocean temperature anomalies from the latest (Mar 2026) ECMWF ensemble. It depicts an extremely rapid rise in such temperatures, from modest negative anomalies to strong positive anomalies, by mid-summer 2026--indicative of a transition from weak-moderate La Nina conditions to moderate-strong El Nino conditions over just a few months.

Whew.

All signs are increasingly pointing to a significant, if not strong to very strong, El Niño event. I'll have more to say in coming weeks & months, but for now I'll just say that this is increasingly likely to become a major regional-to-global climate driver in 2026-2027.

U.S. was only country in a worldwide survey to say most fellow citizens are bad people A new Pew survey shows that other countries’ citizens tend to look more favorably on their neighbors.

It gives me no joy to say this, but ... We live in a sick country. There is a rot at the core. Just about *every* pathology in this country can be traced back to this atmosphere of mistrust

The cognitive dissonance of watching sports reporters giddily line up to cover Trump's college sports jerkoff session, given *gestures broadly at everything*, is jarring.

🧵Feels like shouting into the void, but it is essential to note that the Trump/Rubio gutting of the State Department and blowtorching of US diplomatic capacity and credibility is an accelerant to this spiraling war and will seriously undercut US/allied efforts to pick up the pieces after. 1/

If you block junior scientists from ensuring that they can afford to live (or start families!) in the exorbitantly expensive areas around their workplaces, only family-subsidized solitary rich kids will be able to pursue careers in research - amidst exponential inflation, increasingly few people.

People must be held accountable for this.
If not, how do we move forward as a society

The Bygone Era of Supreme Court Support for Voting Rights Sixty years after upholding the Voting Rights Act, the Court has dismantled most of it.

Tomorrow marks the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama. It also marks the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court first upholding the Voting Rights Act.

We have gotten so, so far away from a Court that cares about democracy.

The First Amendment wasn’t written so “faith leaders” could turn the Oval Office into a prayer circle or promise “revival” through government power.

Religious liberty means keeping church and state separate, not using the presidency as a pulpit.

The Trump administration and their allies in Congress are the ones standing in the way and making things more expensive. While they kept wind and solar projects off the grid, electricity prices went up 13% last year.
