An AIDS orphan, a pastor and his frantic search for the meds that keep her alive In the wake of U.S. aid cuts, Pastor Billy is reminded of his twin sister's death from AIDS. He doesn't want 9-year-old Diana, who's HIV-positive, to meet the same fate.

Related: NPR’s coverage of the U.S. aid cuts. | “10% of the budget for the flagship HIV/AIDS program was set aside for AIDS orphans. It provided things like school fees, food, clothing. For Diana, that type of support stopped overnight. State Department says much of the program is under “review.”

HIV Has Changed. The Stigma Hasn’t. I am often struck by the misconception that HIV stigma is vastly diminished, writes blogger and former N.Y. Senator Tom Duane.

This quote, from a diary entry on 11 April 1944, resounded w/me and inspires my #CreativeRecess work. “I’ll make my voice heard, I’ll go out into the world and work for mankind!” Happy birthday, Anne, b. 12 June 1929.

Marsha P. Johnson’s Story Has So Much to Teach Young People Artist Tourmaline writes about the freedom dreams of Marsha P. Johnson—and how young people are carrying them forward.
