Frost on the sand this morning during the cold plunge. So beautiful, but not much snow on the Olympic Mountains.

The new 2-minute rule: If you can ask an agent to do the task in 2 minutes or less, then have them do it now instead of putting it on your TODO list.
Excellent. I'm setting up an AGX Orin. Finally figured out CLI flash.sh is a much easier path. I can't believe they tied their SDK Manager implementation to specific OS versions for the host computer 🤦

Follow up AI CYA response was that it had only responded with "high profile" news stories and that "kind of partial listing can absolutely feel erasing" #KeithPorter
I asked Perplexity who ICE shot recently, and it only told me about the white victims. Not great.
What is old is new again. Design, planning, and QA verification are the most important resources.
Key changes:
- Executing agents in a VM in yolo mode
- Simple "ralph wiggum" loop
- Agent first issue tracking system (beads)
Using tart VM (macOs) when I am writing GPU based code
When I find bugs or the agent violates the intent of the spec, I file more bugs and repeat the iteration.
Wild.
This week I have finally taken myself out of the loop! I write a spec, and it automatically gets decomposed into issues, I review about 15% of the prose of those issues, and then the agent chews through those without me in the loop. Lastly, I am 50% manual verification of that work.
At the start of 2025, I generated 80% of my code, wrote 20%, and reviewing 100% of the code. By the end of the year, I was generating 100% and reviewing 1%. I was 100% in the loop and waiting for Claude or Codex to ask me questions or to grant permissions.
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
I feel sick to my stomach with what is happening in this country.
wgpu is making the training step really fast on my M2 mac. Fixing bugs, getting there. #3DGS
Working on a Gaussian Splatting tool from scratch in Rust. Goal is to implement the OG paper, then SuGaR to extract meshes. #3DGS
Iran and Egypt have complained to FIFA over Seattle’s plans to promote LGTBQ+ support during a World Cup match this June.
6DOF? Doubtful. I think their creatives got carried away mocking up the feature. 6DOF you'd have to run gen ai twice per frame, once for each eye... because when you move your head (and not the in-game controller) you peak over into a part of the scene not rendered by the app.
Project mapping is so cool. Vibe coding with Claude a projector and a webcam... is too fun. Claude has gotten much smarter in the last 2 weeks.
Wow, amazing results. I'm going to have to play with huggingface.co/datasets/Ple...
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.
He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

After much deliberation and a grueling interview process, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve accepted a new job and will not need any financial support from my parents to cover the high costs of childcare going forward. #AmericanDream #ThisIsYourCity
I only cried three times during the concert.
David Byrne's show last night was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The visuals were stunning. All of the innovative stage techniques Byrne has built up over the previous decade were taken to the next level. Great performance by the ensemble.

I knew it would take less than a day for a tiktok dj to make something.
Decoupling the pedal from the drive train is wild. Great segment, thank you.
