Printing Review : No. LV : Spring 1951 : Festival of Britain Number : Printing Review Limited : London : 1951 : Many specialist and trade journals issued special numbers or carried articles regarding he 1951 Festival of Britain and this is the dedicated issue of "Printing Review" for Spring 1951. It looks at Festival printing, packaging and advertising as well as comparing printing in 1851, the time of the Great Exhibition, alongside contemporary trends. It also looks at the various typefaces used or designed for the Festival. The cover is dominated by the Festival symbol as designed by Abram Games and that was intended to be utilised as widely as possible. The symbol, with a stylised Britannia head acting as the north point of a compass, is in red and blue with a string of flags streched between 'east' and 'west' and 1951, in an Egyptian fat typeface, in between the elongaged south point.
