#Energyprices are coming down.
Let's celebrate some good news when we get it, especially since we take plenty of the criticism when energy prices go the other way ๐.

A call for a stronger business response to the #USA trading crisis. Solutions could be

I couldn't agree more. Policy makers and business leaders need to think much more about incentivising good green growth over just any growth.

Today is a tremendous day for UK transport & energy infrastructure. Here my thoughts on why this is so important for our country:

๐ A very #HappyNewYear from the @vocluk.bsky.social team!
In 2026, we're thrilled to help more business become a more confident voice in shaping responsible policy for a better economy and societal progress.
More of this to come ๐

So much progress is being made through our #energytransition, yet our public debate wouldn't suggest that. I had a go at highlighting the positives in this podcast ๐. If you'd like to get involved in more positive national discourse, then check us out at www.vocL.uk

This is fantastic news - it's so much more than just study - it opens horizons, builds relationships and friendships, develops soft-power and allows people to understand cultural differences and celebrate, rather than knock them.

Another significant milestone as we launch #GreatBritishEnergy first strategy today.
We are committing to:
- Deliver 15GW of renewable power
- Mobilise ยฃ15bn of private sector investment
- Support over 1,000 local community projects
- Create 10,000+ jobs

Such is the power of #communityenergy, delivering real benefit to the community of Lawrence Weston in #Bristol. This project delivereed by the Ambition Lawrence Weston community group is the largest community owned onshore wind turbine in the UK ๐
Good to be joining the discussions at #Recharge2025 hosted by the Danish-UK Association today.
#Denmark is the largest inward investor in UK's renewable energy system, and the developers and supply chain companies here today UK+DK, are very excited about the opportunities for investing in the UK.
You honestly can't make this up. There was no way #Brexit was ever going to cut regulation or bureaucracy for exporters to the #EU, large or small, unless we opted to stay in the Single Market and Customs union. Many of us in business repeatedly made that point.

Accelerating our path to renewable energy is good for the #economy, for #jobs, energy security, and costs.
Not enough of us however, make the argument about the cost of inaction, and I can't make it better than this article ๐
Good luck to all at #Cop30

Thank you @enbw-ag.bsky.social Energie Baden-Wรผrttemberg, for giving us a view of what @greatbritishenergy.bsky.social might look like in 10 years' time. I left with enthusiasm and confidence that we are on the right path - along with a few nuggets of brilliant, innovative ideas and advice as well ๐
Great piece in the @theobserveruk.bsky.social It really fascinates me that the cost of inaction to prevent the worst of the climate crisis is never really covered in our debates on this.
According to this piece;
Cost of action = 1% GDP, cost of inaction between 5-20%

The debate on investments into our #energytransition is often misinformed by simple slogans like 'we can't afford net-zero'. I believe the opposite...

My thought through arguments are in this piece ๐

Very well researched piece by UCL - Wind power has cut ยฃ104bn from UK energy costs since 2010.
The only answers to better energy security and overall lower energy costs are more wind power and renewables - implemented in a way that allows for a just transition.

I went to a Leeds comp school in the 70s/80s and experienced #racism and #homophobia daily. I was so happy about the progress we made and the much happier country I lived in - until a recent return to the bad old days.
Thanks @wesstreeting.bsky.social for calling this out.

At last the Impact of Brexit is being called out
โWhen we left the European Union we left the Dublin Convention & that means where as before we could have returned people to the continent, back to the first safe country they arrived in, that doesnโt exist anymoreโ

Thrilled to be back in #Hull discussing local supply chain opportunities in #renewableenergy. The Humber's potential is immense! Engaged with Mayor Luke Campbell & Simon Green of Humber Freeport. Looking forward to @greatbritishenergy.bsky.social helping engineer more new green energy in the UK!
We are making incredible progress on driving the #energytransition although you wouldn't think so from the increasingly polarised debate. My latest thoughts on this topic in this @vocluk.bsky.social vlog ๐

This is a very powerful read - if you want to hear what it feels like to live on our UK streets right now. As Alex @sturdyalex.bsky.social says, we hear daily about the 'legitimate concerns' of people against less represented groups, but rarely hear this

NOTHING will prepare you for this 45-second story arc. From "I'm just doing this because I love the flag, it's totally grassroots, and I'm not part of anything political"... to who actually gave him the flags the night before.
Anyone who believes it is an innocent movement needs to see this.
Brilliant!
Nice little and important fact check on the truth about claims made against 'Windmills'.

Well done to the MPs from Labour and Libdems who have spoken up about this act - of what would be economic vandalism from Reform.
It's a shame that our media isn't challenging this more, but let's make sure we challenge and have a more balanced debate here.
www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
There are numerous article, that in my view misrepresent the argument of being able to afford the transition to #cleanpower, so here some thoughts to help balance that ๐
juergenmaier.co.uk/cleanpower/
Exactly this ๐ No 'saving' at all, and instead you end up with councils run by people not representative of the communities they serve, with the obvious outcome of not serving those communities well.

Feeling very #European in #Manchester this evening at this reception for #EU Ambassadors - visiting to foster links at cultural, citizen, and political level. It seems that slowly we will edge back to the things we took for granted and now miss because we are all European and have lots in common.
Congratulations Dan McGrail!
Very much looking forward to working with you as we create and scale the publicly owned @greatbritishenergy.bsky.social company, and all the jobs and clean power we will help generate ๐
It has been great to be back in #Aberdeen this week for our second #GreatBritishEnergy board meeting.
Great to learn about the many supply chain companies growing into clean power growth technologies, and also to hear about the challenges we need to help unlock many more such opportunities.
