It’s mediocre because most code out in the open IS mediocre, and (most importantly) most devs don’t know how to write high quality code. And this was true even before AI!!
I'll go ahead and check it out, it's free to see if the book is comprehensible in audio form … no, wait, Hoopla says too many of my fellow patrons have used the service today, I can try again tomorrow.
Oh, I'm actually surprised. They have the audiobook, which normally I'd be fine with. Of course, if a book new costs $80, it probably has a lot of charts and graphs in it…

This is indicative of a mindset which essentially says "there can be no such thing as scholarship or intelligence when it comes from a group I've been conditioned to demonize" and we'd all be better off if we realized these people are simply like this. There's nothing to persuade here, it's bigotry.
People really need to take this seriously.

It doesn't surprise me that a viral anti-porn app with mainstream media coverage allowed months to go by with their user data exposed to anyone who knew a handful of common exploits. Anti-porn crusaders tend to reserve their *greatest* disdain for the people who actually accept their "help."
This is true, but I have also found significant value in anthropomorphizing the AI. Once you start thinking of it in more human terms, your expectations shift to getting more human results… with all of the errors in judgement that implies.

When I quoted: "Gartner predicts that by next year, half of the companies that fired workers for AI are going to hire them back," a couple of days ago, I got a host of "all AI is evil, so take that!" crowing, as if rehired _tech_ workers will be going back to using manual processes alone.

I think this gap is EXTREMELY real in a business sense and yet there is also the revealed other thing here which is a great deal of people in the world will never be remotely of interest to SaaS, and we know it, and those people still have needs suited to software

Listen I’m a man who grew up in the 90s, I learned a long time ago not to comment on anything Britney does one way or the other, ever.
I mention this because a lot of the “AI is awesome” noise comes from people in control of their entire pipeline. I get it. That *is* awesome.
But when you are not in control and held responsible anyway, that kinda sucks.
