Yep. Our Prius is getting old. We have been looking at what's available for smaller vehicles.
It's a Prius or some crossover that loses fuel efficiency and has similar interior space.
We can't do EVs as our apartment management doesn't want to invest in chargers (even though we're in L.A.)

I honestly expected fuel efficient smaller cars to be way more popular than they are.
But between marketing and cheap gas, huge head poppers are the norm.
One other advantage of a small vehicle is a small tank. I don't worry about finding the best deal. 50c savings isn't much for 8 gallons.

We planned this ahead, but we schedule a MetroLink day with our car-happy friends this weekend as part of my wife's birthday. And already a friend was like, "well guess it's time to learn the train system here."

I feel like many American kids of central European roots grew up with some combination of sausage, potato, and cabbage.
When I moved out of the house it was the first meal I leared to cook since it's cheap, simple, and delicious.

I want to say a snarky comment of, good thing I drive a Prius.
But a Prius can't haul 40,000 pounds of food cross country.

(obvious joke) I don't believe you. You had to have flipped the side that holds the drawer at least once. That no matter how much you squint at the tiny picture and make sure the holes go in the the right direction you still flipped it and didn't realize it until you tried to fit the rest of it.

There was a huge moral panic when some people lied that RPG games made a kid commit suicide. But yeah, actual harm and sucide that can be prevented? Total Yawn-fest man.

Said it on YouTube - but re-reading Jingo now. Don't know what world events is making me worry? Anyone know what is going on that would make Jingo relevant again?
(I read it a half a dozen times around 2003 to ~2005. Again some weird world event happened.)

Fair warning they seem sentient and out to hug you.

The fate of NFTs was what I thought Bitcoins fate was going to be. A quick cash grab and crash. Hence why I sold the ~50 I had mined when it hit $100.
I think about that anytime I grumble about work.

When they changed the line from Purple to D I made a cranky remark and my wife was like, "What are you talking about? You can tell people you ride the D all the time."
My wife usually "just tolerates" my sophomoric jokes, but for a rare moment she went down to my level.

I am very insistent with my wife that we never succumb to a "cheaper place in the country" when we hit retirement.
I want to stay in the city and within a short walk to a grocery store and a restaurant or two.
Even if we can't walk we will have services.

Also I really hate being in stupid cyber punk. Instead of guy with a Mohawk and a bionic arm called "High Voltage" we get a smiley ass go-cart named "James."

Admittedly most of my experience is Italian YouTubers farming reactions for content.
I get that learning good techniques is a good thing (using pasta water to get a creamy texture). I just get miffed that people get annoyed for US using cheap easy to get bacon over expensive hard to get Guanciale.

The best internet food discourse is putting bacon in your carbonara or pineapple on your pizza. I get a sick joy out of Italians getting upset on modifying Italian recipes based on what is cheap and available to the cook.

I would argue it should be toward the top. That's another data point to argue that the presidency for Trump is all about enriching himself, his families, and his cronies.
That most of his decisions are not for the interest of the US or Americans but for him.
