Granite Game Summit was just so delightful. A much needed game filled break from my stress filled "real" job. Big shout out to Kimberly and all her people who helped put it together. I got playtests in. And I got to play great games with great friends.
Now there's coffee everywhere. Thanks a lot
Efka blocked me bc I made a joke about game reviewing being unserious work in response to his gatekeeping. Oh well. Lol
And here I was thinking you only do board game reviews. 😘
I guess I've only used it for unserious work. And I myself may just not be serious enough. Or else I would've recognized its inability to process words as effectively as serious people expect from their word processing applications when doing serious work.
Google Docs is free with no ads. I don't understand why anyone would use Word.
Fields. We say football fields. A pitch is what we designers do to get publishers to consider giving us a contract. 😏

Game chit token chips
Super secret prototype that I'll be bringing to Granite Game Summit this weekend. FAFO... Find Aaron and Feel Operatic?
Well it's Bluesky. These off-season NFL clickbait lines don't really work here.
Awesome. Imagine all the things I can't buy with geek gold.
I was referring to the process for evaluating your OWN designs. Asking yourself questions as loudly as possible while crossing the street in New York city can also help create more available physical space around you. 🤣
"Is your game fun?" is simply the wrong question. The right question is "Do players create a rich and rewarding experience when they play your game?" And that should only be the first in a series of questions. Fun is an expectation, not a requirement.
At least I didn't call him an aggressive dickhead. Hahaha
Lol ok. An ethical code that doesn't take people, their values and intentions into consideration is shit. If my pointing that out to some inflexible rando makes me an "aggressive dickhead" to you, so be it.
Eh. Whatever. He was being incredibly judgemental and pedantic. And really hated it when logic prevailed. So he got blocked.
Way to dodge the own. See yah
Smart of you to not answer my question bc you know if you say "yes" you sound insane and if you say no then you've broken your own inflexible code. Ethical behavior is circumstantial. Intentions matter. Your black and white code is shit.
Would you consider it unethical if I reviewed a $50 game then sold it for a penny?
A conflict of interest? You think MM will give a more favorable review to a game bc they can maybe sell it after? Lol I sincerely doubt it. Yall act like it's big money politics. Now a PAID review. That's different. And I only think it's unethical if they hide the fact.
Fair. I certainly personally don't ever bother selling games bc it's time consuming. More likely to donate to our library or FLGS
I honestly don't think it's unethical to sell a review copy anymore than it's unethical to sell a game you don't play anymore and that someone might be willing to buy? What WOULD be unethical is if that's all MM were doing bc they've got a racket going and are rolling in dough from it.
Be the Eize you want to see in the world.
The problem with roll and move has always been its proliferation as the central yet inexplicable mechanism in mid to late 20th century mass market board games. Designing a good game means giving players agency to create a rewarding experience. If you can do that with roll and move, good on you.
This is insane. Tik Tok is absolute trash.
No one should be surprised that these are his views if you know anything at all about Dancey. He's made it very clear in several instances that he's a complete slimeball.
Didn't you feel it? There's lightness in the air bc all the billionaires moved away. 🤣
Oh so that's what @dnlnwmn.bsky.social means when he texts me "let's get weird" in the middle of the night
