I might actually cry
Polymarket, Kalshi and all the rest of these prediction markets need to be wiped off the face of the earth. They provide absolutely nothing of value and are corrupting everything they touch.

[A screenshot of the Nintendo Australia website flash intro from 1998. A number of official artwork renders are used for the buttons. The Yoshi button is labeled "HELP" and is altered to have smaller pupils than usual.] Source: image: https://web.archive.org/web/19980530120304fw_/http://www.nintendo.com.au/flash_index.html, info: Bluesky user @vghistory.bsky.social
The 1998 official site for Nintendo Australia had a deliberately silly aesthetic with small animations and edits to official renders. For the "HELP" button, Yoshi's pupils were made smaller than usual to give him a "concerned" expression, as though in need of help.
I've accepted that the newer generation of gamers don't give a shit about preservation. Especially with game key cards for the Switch 2.
But every time I see shit like this I have the urge to slap them like the Batman meme:
"I can still download stuff from the 3DS homebrew shop"

I'll be honest the more I see this kind of thing the more I think Nintendo should stop doing Directs at all
Hype just looks like a drug to these people, they are just missing the point of those Directs. Play the games that are already out ffs.
Making stuff is hard, but sometimes people enjoy what you made. That is cool, but what is just as cool, if not cooler, is when -you- enjoy the thing -you- made. Make stuff that you enjoy simply because you enjoy the act of creating and want it to exist.
Also, don't use AI. That shit sucks.

I’m so tired of bad people getting away with doing bad things.

Cute face, but this is his hunting face
A windows dialog: the window title reads “Bunny” and the contents is a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark with an image of a grey small bunny next to it. The available buttons below are “Ok” and “Exit”

art is still going slowly for me, so for now here's a little Vivian doodle
Oh neat, with that we should have all Satellaview versions of Quintet‘s Super Famicom games preserved!
(Gaia Gensouki and Slapstick didn’t get broadcast demos from as far as I know.)

when i was a kid, i’d make sense of the world by imagining UI status alerts in my peripheral vision. they looked kinda like this.

Dodge this! :3
Please keep this and various other stuff in mind when EVO inevitably starts “putting money” towards your FGC locals.
pixel art in four panels depicting how to draw a sphere. Step 1 reads "draw a circle" and has a basic line circle. Step 2 reads "add basic shading" and has four shades of flat color including a couple teal highlights toward the upper left and darker blue-green shadow colors. Step 3 reads "add highlights and shadows. Blend colors" and the teal-blue sphere introduces two more highlight colors and two more shadow colors, which are now blended with excessive dithering. There is also slight reflected light on the lower right edge. Step 4 reads "make sphere angery" and the sphere now has a cartoonish frowning angry face in the highlight area. On the lower right of the image is a bar showing the eight colors in the palette.

George has a thought bubble coming from his head that reads, "Hey Stuart, the toaster might give you some "leverage" in getting to the next step." Stuart is below, also with a thought bubble, responding, "Thanks for the tip, George!" The use of thought bubbles implies George and Stuart and communicating telepathically.
