Happy Monday!
This week in The Woodworking Shed I'm back with a vengeance. The birdsmouth joint has been conquered! See how I did it 👇

Exciting times! I recently received this collection of planes.
They're not in the best condition, rust, missing parts even a chipped mouth... But I'm excited to try and get these tools back in working order!

How do you dispose of your plane shavings?
I have a pile slowly building up... Considering an incinerator bin.

Throwback Thursday! 🪚
This week I'm looking back at my plan to build a workbench. How times change...
Enjoy this revised and edited version 👇

All of these things cause headaches! Some of them are interesting challenges to try and solve though!
Top tip: Wax your planes!
My current workshop environment is less than ideal to say the least.
Yet with a little candle wax, I can take shavings thick and fast without my "workbench" moving anywhere!

Throwback Thursday! 🪚
I’m slowly working through and giving my old posts some love.
This week, I’m taking a trip down memory lane to my original workbench plans. So much has evolved since then.
Enjoy!

Not without insurance 😂
It's a real side quest!
Broke out The Woodworking Shed sharpening system for the first time!
A little nervous honing the edge on a brand new chisel, having never sharpened a tool before! But it turned out pretty well.
I got a burr, a shiny finished, and it cuts effortlessly!
#woodworking #handtools
Probably 😂
That's very true!
But I have a feeling because the wood isn't straight not the square haha!
Never owned a carpenter's square until now, and honestly, how did I live without it?! Squares, angles, offsets – it's absolutely incredible.
And one thing's for sure: with this colour, I'm never losing it! 📐
Which marking & measuring tool can't you live without?
#woodworking
Haha 😂
You have to change a belt over I can see that from the images I've been sent.
But! It is speed adjustable so nothing stopping us adding a second belt in the name of efficiency!
Yeah... Not for me!

I sussed this out in the most unlikely of places! An old woodworking machines book came up on vinted and check the front cover!
This machine is the Major Coronet 12 Function Woodwork Lathe. Mystery solved!
#woodworking #oldtools
I'll certainly be giving it a try!
You reckon? I thought the brace looked well past it! I only wanted the bits haha
That's reassuring. I'll try to clean them up and I'll need to buy an auger file too!
Spotted these on Vinted for £8 so picked them up!
I don't think the brace will be much good but I'm hoping the auger bits can be cleaned up nicely!
Bad buy or have I saved myself a small fortune?

My wood finally arrived! So excited to get started on my new project...
