A lot of people say AI isn't very good for the world and its outputs are routinely unreliable, but these haters fail to see how it's revolutionizing how we incinerate schoolchildren.

David Byrne timidly exits a waterlogged suit and scuttles across the sizzling sand. Until he locates an improbably larger suit, he will be left vulnerable to seagulls and other hungry predators. At last, salvation: He finds an abandoned gray suit in a tide pool and crawls into his spacious new home.
i built an entire x86 CPU emulator in CSS (no javascript)
you can write programs in C, compile them to x86 machine code with GCC, and run them inside CSS

let it be known that iβm still an βAIβ hater but this is really interesting. one of the first times that ive seen solid evidence that llms can be an improvement over our current tools (since βlines of code writtenβ or βcode qualityβ are just horrible metrics)
modified tweet by @sadiqoJN Why do bash time travelers for not being there for Stephen Hawking but we never question if Stephen Hawking has bad vibes? Or if they're just unpleasant to be around?
i bought some in november, just in time, but they started clicking badly 2 days ago and iβm getting worried. iβve already committed myself to a certain amount of storage and i donβt want to have to buy new drives
these people have basically become addicted to gambling. think about it: they pour money into tokens, obsess about that leading to a good result, keep spending until and then well after that happens, never able to stop themselves from thinking about it. AIβs a slot machine.
ββ¦ it took quite a bit longer to realize that just because you can, you might not want to.β really? youβre a fully grown man and you only realized that after blowing untold amounts of money on glorified autocomplete? and you admitted that on your own blog?
taking all the effort in my body to not qt that agent psychosis article with βdamn if only anyone at all had warned you about any of thisβ
Verge headline: ICE moves out to the suburbs by Gaby Del Valle Photo: Queen Anne Courts mobile home park where there ICE activity has been reported in Lakeville, MN on February 5th, 2026. Lots of snow but no people around.
The same day DHS announced the surge would end in Minnesota, ICE activity increased in small towns.

i agree that you gotta share what kinda genres u like for good recs, but my personal favorite from last year was Racing Mount Pleasantβs self-titled. Very good, like, hardcore indie rock with a ton of brass and strings? similar to geese and bcnr
Ending this operation is not enough.
We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.
like i had a job working on a matrix client for a few years a few years ago and i really thought the ecosystem would be better now but im trying it out again and i feel like literally nothing has changed since 2022
is matrix just an impossible protocol? is libolm too bug-ridden and entrenched to make anything work? literally why is every matrix client still riddled with decryption errors and bugs everywhere, this far into the matrixβs lifespan
and the only desktop client i havenβt run into bugs w is fractal, but it feels behind the times on features (like it doesnβt even support slash commands)
lmao yeah i tried this today as well - i all but left the matrix ecosystem 2 years and thought the situation would be better by now but i feel like it literally hasnβt improved at all

Yes we are. Weβre going to stop them
Bilbo looking at his phone top on bottom is ChatGPT After all, why not? Why shouldn't I keep it? You're absolutely right β you found it, it's been with you a long while, and it's only natural to feel fond of something that's served you so well, especially when someone like Gandalf suddenly seems to want it for himself.
βThis will result in the largest ever accumulation of power and wealth in the hands of a diminishing few, while the legitimate needs of the peopleβ¦are met with βlet them eat chatbotsβ. That *is* the intent and why AI is a project of class domination.β β disjunctionsmag.com/articles/why...
Remember that literally every single one of the billionaire freaks behind generative AI has very publicly aligned themselves with trump and his policies
Their CEO's are in and out of the oval office for photo ops, they're donating mountains of money to him, they're literally getting military titles
Nuremberg trials for ICE is the moderate position
A nearby man holding a skateboard admonished the group, saying that their quarry looked like he'd "had enough." However, when someone nearby shouted that the person they were assaulting was Ngo, the skateboard-carrying man changed his attitude, swearing and joining the group.
the first candidate to run in a program of mass imprisoning AI company executives will earn my vote
yeah. it makes me sad. i have a lot of thoughts but theyβre not new or special or anything. best move is probably just to let people say what they want. they know what i think about it all.
with that said, i think i need to accept that some people just donβt see ai usage as all that bad. and that its fine to lose respect for said people if thatβs my line in the sand. i just kinda thought that the rust community generally believed that we can build a better world through our choices.
