like i had a job working on a matrix client for a few years a few years ago and i really thought the ecosystem would be better now but im trying it out again and i feel like literally nothing has changed since 2022
is matrix just an impossible protocol? is libolm too bug-ridden and entrenched to make anything work? literally why is every matrix client still riddled with decryption errors and bugs everywhere, this far into the matrix’s lifespan
and the only desktop client i haven’t run into bugs w is fractal, but it feels behind the times on features (like it doesn’t even support slash commands)

yeah. it makes me sad. i have a lot of thoughts but they’re not new or special or anything. best move is probably just to let people say what they want. they know what i think about it all.
with that said, i think i need to accept that some people just don’t see ai usage as all that bad. and that its fine to lose respect for said people if that’s my line in the sand. i just kinda thought that the rust community generally believed that we can build a better world through our choices.
