Have to think that trend just comes from live2D rigs as the face tracking works best in that position. I do wish people just used frame swapping images more as it can allow for more expressions and fucking around without the need for tracking software or an expensive 3d model.

Something I’ve just noticed about game communities for the past few years is that there’s a decent size of people who get more enjoyment finding any small detail to shit on with games, then actually playing any.
