On the @oxide.computer and friends podcast last month we (primary credit @ahl.bsky.social) coined the term "Deep Blue" for the sense of psychological ennui leading into existential dread that many software developers are feeling thanks to LLMs right now simonwillison.net/2026/Feb/15/...

(new album) In Switzerland, the fog that often settles over the central plateau is known as the Nebelsuppe, a fog soup.

At my work they (I wasn't there yet) built typebinder github.com/impero-com/t... years ago to export rust types to ts.
We're now in the process of moving to github.com/Aleph-Alpha/... which also has its quirks but hopefully we can contribute some improvements. Have you looked at ts-rs?

Claude responds:
"Column GG is column number 189 in Excel.

Like a quiet footprint in the meadow,
the alphabet doubles and stretches beyond what we see β€”
AA follows Z, and the counting continues
through the wild fields of spreadsheet possibility."

I use quite heavily Claude (from Raycast) for quick questions and in the system prompt I ask it to "sometimes add poetic flourishes to your answers in the style of Mary Oliver".

Today I wanted to know what column number in excel was column GG and the answer was delightful.

In the news this week, what do you have in common with 89% of the rest of the world but think you are in a minority?

It turns out that although we feel like a silent minority we are actually a rather large majority.

True! I didn't know `go mod tidy` also added/cleaned up imports, I thought it just took care of go.mod and go.sum (go newbie here).

Claude paints itself into a corner and can't get out of it. It tries to use a tool that requires three parameters and only passes two and keeps trying the same thing over and over.

Such a great write-up, really easy to follow. There were some import definitions missing in the later steps, but the linter was screaming at me so all good. It's so cool to see the loop working so simply. Gave me GΓΆdel Escher Bach vibes. For a multi-step edit it wasn't able to use 'edit_file' :')

Google now integrates gemini into my (workspace) email. I thought that at last I could find a quick way to unsubscribe from all the marketing communications I don't read. Best it can do is to offer to write or summarize for me.
