Amazing example of media right wing bias. If the protesters were left wing, the headline would state that the protesters brought the IEDs and were arrested, rather than leaving it vague.
There are a lot of posts out there with the close-up visual of Markwayne Mullin on January 6, but this is a better perspective.
Heβs not protecting others; heβs protecting himself and hiding. You can see plenty of people at the entry door, ready to take on the insurrectionists, but not Markwayne.
OTOH it is the privilege and duty of every citizen to vote. Not voting is to surrender their part in a Democracy to those who do vote. Neither party is owed a vote, but rarely are elections as clearly demarcated as 2024. Sadly I suspect the non-voters are suffering the most under this admin.
The obvious wisdom and effectiveness of Housing First is obscured by the fact we've made "a tiny, no-frills apartment" an expensive status symbol in huge swathes of the country by creating an artificial housing shortage
Dear Russia,
Iran's fire is making oil prices spike.
Spiking oil prices makes economic problems for us, so we're making it easier for you to sell more oil.
In sum, Iranian military success against us reduces economic pressure on you.
Just, you know, FYI.
Sincerely,
The geniuses leading America
I planned to share my report on the body cam footage early next week when I learned that a DC news station had obtained some of the footage as a result of my lawsuit and they were going to scoop me. After working on this for a year, I couldn't let that happen. Published 2 mins before they aired :)
Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy.
We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.
I will also say that itβs a bit wild to me that no press freedom organization or professional journalistic association has tried to contact me or even put out a statement here.
I mean Jesus Christ. A little solidarity from institutions would be nice here!
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Spot on. The only economic downturn the Grand Old Perverts didnβt oversee was one during Carter.
If Republicans are going to waste time deposing Hillary Clinton, it's well past time Congress gets some answers out of President Trump.
This man was a close friend of Epstein, he was found civilly liable of sexual assault, and his name appears in the files more than 38k times.
This is just bonkers, as evangelicals dominate Republican ranks in every branch of government. It shows that these extreme Christian nationalists don't want to just have a voice, they want Dominion
Every Republican administration in my lifetime has started (or escalated) a war and tanked the economy. Iβve been saying this for 20 years. This is not hard.

Keep in mind we already know the US-IDF alliance is committing war crimes, lying about casualties, lying about imminent threats, lying about timelines. And keep in mind the UK confirms the Cyprus strike came from Lebanonβnot Iran. Hezbollah has even *less* reason to anger the UK.
BREAKING: @aoc.bsky.social just came out swinging in the House E&C hearing against dangerous & misguided "age verification" legislation (aka online ID checks) that would force everyone to upload government ID or get a face scan before accessing content or posting online.
Video incoming. This is big
But this Claude incident highlights another problem with AI:
My story and the Post's work are carefully written and reported.
We deliberately choose what we can and can't say. Editors review our language and challenge us on facts.
AI summaries throw all that work into a copy blender.π«
Not sure how much was shame, or her public failure to include Trump and his boys on her $200mil grift.
No, I am serious. Reagan won by saying βBig government isnβt the solution, big government is the problem.β and for the last forty-five years every successive U.S. government has to a greater or lesser extent continued that mantra, none has called it out for the ridicules bullshit it is.
An Iranian warship destroyed in a US torpedo strike on Wednesday was "defenceless" and participating in an international naval exercise as a guest of the Indian navy, according to reports. Former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal said βthe Iranian ship will not be where it was if we had not invited it to talk [sic] part in our Milan exerciseβ. Sibal added that because it was taking part in an exercise βit was defencelessβ. Indian politician Supriya Shrinate said on social media: "These Iranian navy men parading at an event in India, were our guests. Invited by us. "US submarine targeted their ship and killed them while they were returning home." Shrinate also criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his failure to make a statement on the attack.
The Iranian warship that was bombed by the US was unarmed

The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. Theyβre tapping in to get in on the violence.
And then he bragged about it on X later.
The use of AI to identify targets (without subsequent specific human confirmation) should be considered a war crime.
And by that I don't mean "we should make a rule" I mean that straightforward application of the existing rules would tell you that it is a war crime.
Amazing how all the current GOP group chats inevitably devolve into the worst Nazi aspects of 8chan, surely this isnβt a sign of what the party has morphed into
Imagine serving as a Marine and then being injured at home, on purpose, by a sitting Senator while exercising your constitutionally-protected rights.
Good plan, thereβs no way that the US would ever betray Kurds who fought on their behalf, or that Turkey would be upset by and seek to frustrate any US-backed Kurdish forces, or that an invasion from Iraq would trigger Iranian nationalist opposition. None of those things have ever happened.
Invoke the War Powers Resolution now. Congress has the legal authority to force a vote on the continuation of hostilities within 60 days. Every day that passes without doing so is a day that silence functions as authorization. Members who believe this operation is unconstitutional should say so on the record, in binding procedural terms, not in press releases. Lock in the legal record at the UN before it closes. The Security Council cannot act, but the record of this meeting, the explanations of the vote, and any General Assembly action under Uniting for Peace will matter for accountability processes that may be years away. Silence at the UN now is the erasure of evidence.
Congress and the International Community can move now and quickly to signal that this is an unacceptable breach of the international order, the firmament upon which all nations stand opposed to wars of aggression. internationalpolicy.org/publications...
Great listen, though after only hearing him on this show youβll never convince me that @quinnypig.com isnβt Paul Giamattiβs secret alter ego.
