In 2019, I created #WhatAGameDevLooksLike after I was stopped by security 3(!!) times while picking up my speaker badge. I’m a small Asian woman with pink hair, and I guess I didn’t visually meet their expectations of a speaker.

Ironically, I was at GDC to speak about inclusive studio cultures. 🫠

The Experience Director for House of Kong is a long time Punchdrunk collaborator, Hector Harkness, who co-directed Viola’s Room.

I really enjoyed how the audio and visual elements in HOK were supplemented by tactile environments, light interactivity, and custom scents. Strong recommend.
