The US will obviously "win" this war, in that we inflict more casualties and damage on Iran than they do on us, and the US will be in a stronger posistion than Iran, but we will also almost certainly be weaker and poorer in a less-stable, less-functional world than if we hadn't decided to do this.
I dunno, that doesn't obviate the value of examining overperformers for clues on how to overperform when that matters (marginal races).
