yeah i feel like this is only gonna get stranger as i get older. we're only like 4 years apart but ive definitely noticed this trend more and more as i approach the end of my 20s. sidenote 2016 nostalgia is so fucking bizarre having distinctly remembered everyone calling it the worst year ever

like a 30 year cycle broadly but also a 10 year cycle for whoever is currently turning 18. somehow some popular social media aesthetic blurs both of these things together. what do i want to say in pointing this out?? uhh idk lol.

i see notions of a "30 year cycle" discussed a lot but the lines feel a lot blurrier to me these days. 80s nostalgia has somehow been popular for what feels like my entire life, meanwhile kids become adults and whatever they grew up with becomes The Good Ol Days
