A ★★★★★ review of Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (2025) Movie comedies might be back, folks. We found the genre hiding at the intersection of 2008 pop culture references, loving rip-offs of Back To The Future, and Toronto starring as ITS OWN GLORIOUS SELF.

A vibe-coding dipshit, after a long hard day regurgitating slop back and forth with his chatbot, will unknowingly replicate that development environment.

He won't notice, for instance, that his exciting nurse-replacing chatbot, is incapable of washing a patient's ass. Just doesn't even notice.

It's Official: the Cybertruck is More Explosive than the Ford Pinto - FuelArc News We now have a full year of data for the Cybertruck, and a strange preponderance of headlines about Cybertrucks exploding into flames, including several fatalities. That’s more than enough data to comp...

The Ford Pinto had a death rate of 85 people for 10 million cars sold. The Cybertruck hasn't sold 10 million, but the fatality rate so far maths out to 1,452 people killed per 10 million sold.

The Cybertruck may be the deadliest road car, for the occupants, ever sold.

I looked up recently what the success rate for LLMs tuned for doing accounting is because that’s an ideal use case and it was like below 70% which is super unacceptable, like if your accountant fucked up that much you’d go to prison.

Sorry to get radical but I don’t think it’s my job or yours to embrace, accept, understand - and certainly not to use - the thing being sold to us as AI. I don’t like any part of it, so I won’t. I’m missing out? Good, that’s what I want. You’re worried about me missing out? That’s fuckin weird, man.

Only one thing I'd add is that these models put a premium on knowing what quality output is. That skill is not evenly distributed, and these tools are going to speed-run the consequences of (low) quality in many orgs. Will create demand for thing-knowers.

I feel bad when I read people who say they hate writing, especially to the extent they’d let an LLM do it. Writing was the path to making me feel human and the emotional journey of doing it all the time fills me full of purpose. I refuse to believe I’m the only person who feels like this!

AI coding claims are conveniently nondisprovable. What studies there are show it not helping coding at all, or making it worse.

But SO MANY ANECDOTES! Trust me, I am now the most efficient coder in the land. No, you can't see it. No, I didn't measure. But if you don't believe me, you are a fool.

something that's always consistent with the replacing writing CSS with framework/paid SaaS squawkers is they don't seem to understand CSS at all which is probably why they think their thing is smarter

New study by the National Bureau of Economic Research: A survey of 6000 CFOs, CEOS throughout US, Europe, UK and Australia comes to the conclusion that businesses predict that "AI" will improve productivity by a whopping 1.4%. Truly earth shattering.

Everyone who ever cornered a developer at a party to tell them about a great app idea is now able to vibe code it and discover for themselves why the developers they talked to all said the idea wouldn't work.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.

“AI will take over programming! It’s easy! You just write a perfect specification of what your software needs to do, hand it to the AI, and then it all just works forever!”

Congratulations you have reinvented the worst models of software development. That’s a known failure state.
