Funny you should ask! One of my few existing friends does live in Ireland. I'm not a fan of flying but one day I will get there.

I was just giving myself a pep talk (to get out of bed) & called myself babe, a term usually reserved for the cat. I guess I have a modicum of affection for myself after all.

I don't want to think this is an unrealistic ask. Political analogies are integral to the series (and to earlier xiv expansions). XIV has no right to undermine FF by being pure fluff. I enjoy the game but I'd love it if they put more effort into the storylines.

When I was dispensing cat treats before sitting down to eat, as is our nightly ritual, I think the cat was nibbling on the pork in my dish.

Dan dan noodles made with spaghetti cooked in baking soda water. There are whole dried chiles, scallions, ground pork, & sliced cucumbers on the side instead of steamed bok choy. Americanized & also made with some traditional Chinese products.

Today's iteration of the linked dan dan noodles recipe. One of my favorite dishes but this recipe is new to me. I only had dried spaghetti & cucumbers so that's what I used.

I only learned about them as an adult bc I don't live where they do. My mind was blown- thought I already knew about all the cute, smallish, canids & assorted mammals!

If I sit for 1 minute in the morning, I end up w/ cat cuddles & cannot extricate myself. It's a very serious & debilitating situation, bc the cat is not this cuddly later in the day.

What a sweetie! I have always thought of brindle dogs and tortoiseshell cats as having a chocolate peanut butter swirl pattern. One of my favorite flavor combinations and type of markings!

Thx. There was a cheddar jalapeno bread he got from a long gone bakery. I didn't know him back then. My mom & I have baked several loaves each, w/ diff recipes but he never seems to like it. If things were better b/w us, I'd ask, but things are tense, which is why I baked for him 😹

I don't expect anyone to pretend to like something I baked for them. I want them to say what they disliked about it, so I can make something better suited to them. Stepdad ate 1 slice of the cheddar jalapeno bread I baked for him & didn't say anything. It was a lot of work & it's just sitting there.

After all the years of pain, shame, & expensive interventions I have endured in effort to get closer to an arbitrary feminine ideal, I'm happy that those in pursuit of masculinity are not denying themselves the pursuit of arbitrary, painful, & expensive perfection any longer.

I am in perimenopause (I think?) & confirm that adulthood (anything from 25-45) is now the distant past & the issues of adolescence have returned in full force. No one told me this would happen- not that anyone has ever told me anything about what to expect during menopause.
