This thread is a story not only about data and AI, but about all of science. This bias is not anti-scientific; it is intrinsic in everything we do, including science, which is the ultimate bias of all. The greatest critics of science like Nietzsche understood this.
I would say that this is only the case if you are using someone else's AI in your application. You can fine-tune and prune your own models, which in essence turns them into procedural generation machines that you've hand-crafted with your instructions and can reuse in different applications.
Personally, I can't think of a single video game that does role-playing better than a TTRPG that has a good GM behind it. But that might change soon thanks to AI.

The latest technological innovation isn't generative AI, but accelerated computing, which made generative AI possible. A hardware evolution, in other words. Evolutionary developments in hardware, whether organic or mechanic, are a prerequisite for new software developments. #AIdev #philosophy
