Wild thing is, this isn’t my first rodeo with Typekit faces and I’ve never had to hack around it before. Maybe I wasn’t leveraging variable fonts but… Seems like a weird and new problem. I wouldn’t care but iOS matters 🙃
Cursor bailed me out of that jam, but it seems like support for variable faces should be more deeply baked in to CMSes given that the payloads are drastically reduced compared to the traditional web font approach.
Hit a wall for a couple days on my #WordPress website relaunch where Safari (MacOS and every iOS browser) was italicizing an Adobe Typekit variable font, that should've rendered as upright.
