But in those final moments you understand just enough that despite the fact… the only one in that room in a costume is DD… there’s something beautiful about them being just like, yeah we lost, there’s not a lot of hope, but we’re gonna have the grit to say “fuck it” and keep going. If you’d had a bunch of other superheroes show up, it almost gives too much hope. That’s no longer about the grit and uncertainty and just going forth and doing it… even though you’re probably going to lose. That’s heroic.
