Exhumed tonight. First band was really good. Ectospire from Tulsa, who makes "extremely queer music for extremely queer people," according to their merch
We had 16 mics on the kit. Making sure everything was in phase and properly leveled was so tedious
I was very proud when he said my drum engineering sounded good. I got conscripted into engineering the redo drum sessions for Dischordia after the first guy that did them fucked them up to the point that they were unusable. I've never been so nervous for a session knowing they were going to Colin
He mixed the new Dischordia album, which I engineered the drums for. Same kit, same room, same mics, same drummer as Fathomless, but his mix sounds so different.
I've listened to them since Genesis. I like them fine, but they're not like top 10 for me or anything. The show was just boring. Every song was basically the same tempo, no real stage presence. Just dull and uninspired
I've seen Rotting Christ, and I found their set terribly boring. Every song sounded exactly the same.
I didn't go see them on purpose, they were just at Milwaukee Metal Fest one year I was there and I was pleasantly surprised with their performance
I've seen all 3 of those bands in the last couple years, and VERY surprisingly Deicide was the best of them all.
My wife installed a smart thermostat in our house without consulting me, and I hate it with the fire of a thousand suns. It doesn't work nearly as well as our old dumb one. My house is always too hot or too cold now. We've had more fights about that thing than anything else in a decade of marriage
DM'd you a couple contacts
No wonder I've never heard of it, it's just a general event space. They don't typically do shows. 89th St. is usually the go-to spot for metal, but attendance there is wildly unpredictable. You'll definitely want a well established local band on the bill.

What venue was that? I thought I'd been to every venue in OKC
... yet they're still sounding the tornado sirens. As they have been on and off for an hour. It's like having really loud tinnitus.
Tornado threat is past my house. I love the way the sky looks after a storm has passed
Tornado season is off to an early start this year.
Metal bands of Bluesky, do any of you post your music on SoundCloud? I was always under the impression that it's mostly rappers and EDM, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on potential listeners. Is it worth my time to setup an account?
Thanks for the pre-order, I hope you love the album. Hausgeist is a wild ride, but Intangibles is leading the voting so far (and the band is split between Intangibles and Empire and Conquest) so you'll probably have to wait for the full album for that track.
I'm having a hard time deciding which song to release 3/20 as the 2nd single, and the band are split on their votes. Would my #metalsky friends go to the BC then arbitrarily vote based on title?
Oh, and listen to the 1st single while you're there.

Vertebrae or Below the Lights. E and Heimdal are also high up there
I assume that'll be a popular answer.
That album is a masterpiece

I actually read the entire bible. Nothing puts the hypocrisy into sharp focus quite like that.
Pre-orders are live for the new Fathomless album, and the first single is streaming on Bandcamp and Ampwall

Zappa: The London Symphony Orchestra, Vol. I & II
If I ever win the lottery I won't say, but the dead giveaway will be me hiring a full symphony orchestra to perform Fathomless material.
I always thought of Reinkaos as more Black 'n Roll. Whatever genre you want to label it, its got some seriously catchy songs. And as much I'm just trolling him with "it's their best," if I'm being honest I probably do listen to it more often than the rest of the discography
Oh, I love it too. It's a great album that gets a bad rap, but it's objectively not better than SOTLB. I just like making him angry arguing about it. After 25+ years of friendship I still haven't found anything that annoys him more.
I pronounce it like d'ssection.
Most of the time when I'm saying it out loud it's to troll my friend Matt by passionately arguing that Reinkaos is their best album
I'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who listened to the new single and pre-ordered the new album yesterday. If you missed it, here's the link:
