Yeah I would not be a good owner for a dog who is smarter or more active than me.

I just read this out loud to my partner with the comment βthis is why i will always have greyhounds, they are not smart enough to do thisβ
one of my takeaways from watching all of the latest drive to survive season is the word βmegaβ is on its own a thing, as in βthatβs megaβ
I noticed the CDOT staff were especially receptive when you could tell them you use or would use bike lanes to go somewhere specific (like, I want to get to the Jewel or I go to this gym and take Long to get there.)
Yeah I heard them saying the room comfortably fits about 140, 200 RSVP'd and he thought 300-400 showed up. Crazy!
Some old grumps around but people seemed mostly supportive.
Wish I had seen this! Would have liked to say hi in person. What a turnout, though!
rice and cucumber is not a meal! i had to help my girl out. π
work bought us lunch today for "employee appreciation day" but didn't order enough and all the meat eaters took falafel and hummus along with their meat leaving no protein for the vegetarians.
i got pretty much the last 3 falafel but my coworker got none so i gave her one of mine.
Photo from the 69th floor of the Aon Center into a foggy day. The fog is hiding the lakefront, lake, horizon, and sky. Soft outlines of some closer buildings are visible in the foreground and interior lights are reflected in the glass.
lake missing, problems forever?
George Russell will always be a tool though
Drive to Survive is making me like Kimi Antonelli. Seems like a good kid!
I might add a little warm water especially in the winter because my teeth are sensitive to cold, but in the office it gets way too warm IMO.
Given his appetite and attitude being pretty good, weβre not in dire, end of life straits just yet. Which means we probably should pursue diagnosing and treating his skin condition after all.
Milton needed extra gabapentin for them to work on him today so heβs zooted but happy right now. Gobbled his dinner right up.
Still waiting on some results but his kidneys are functioning at about 20% of full capacity. Which sounds horrible but honestly isnβt as bad as we were worried it could be.
Neither of them were particularly good people, btw. Being a βworking manβ doesnβt mean shit about your values, ultimately.
1. WWII aircraft mechanic, painter/contractor, brother was killed in a βgangland shootingβ when they were young, probably affiliated with the mob.
2. Died when I was too young to know much about his history but I think he was a veteran and I know he worked as a bartender and liked to play pinochle.
I try to because I have Invisalign and I hate it. Hate having to make time for it during my lunch break, hate brushing my teeth in a semi public setting and worrying Iβm grossing someone out, hate the automatic faucets and the only option being warm water!
Libraries are amazing. You can just walk in and hang out! Currently in the Downers Grove library hanging out with the old dudes working their way through every daily newspaper.
Depending on the results today we might look into hospice care thanks to you sharing your experience. It would be so nice to have someone else in our corner. Youβve been so kind to me I want you to know how much I appreciate it (and hate the circumstances that connected us)
Iβd love to switch him to the IM team at VSC where we took both our dogs for his remaining follow ups but they book out like 4-6 months and idk that Milton will be around that long.
My partner says he thinks Milton and I have ptsd from this place. And we havenβt felt great about the care here so thatβs another layer of not trusting thin the way I trust the rest of our care team. But theyβre the specialists for the surgery he had. So itβs hard!
I picked this place because itβs not Starbucks and the photos showed a couch but the couch is just for show. itβs so uncomfortable I canβt sit in it! Not a good place for sitting and reading for hours.
Cappuccino is good tho
Iβve decided itβs networking or an informational interview. Iβve never heard the word innovate so much in one conversation
There are two women here together and I canβt tell if their conversation is friends hanging out or if itβs an interview (itβs a very small space and they are loud so itβs hard not to overhear)
I tried to drive home but it felt like abandoning him and crying while driving felt dangerous so I turned around and now Iβm at a coffee shop called Mud & Char
I also have to decide if I drive all the way home and then come all the way back to pick him up, or wait out here in downers grove for him to be done, but that will potentially be all day.
Crying in the parking lot of the specialty vet clinic, as you do. (Milton is ok, he has a procedure today and Iβm just worried about him. Heβs not chill about vets like he used to be so itβs incredibly stressful for him.)
I have now learned about Sebo vacuum cleaners and kind of wish I hadn't (they are very expensive, but also German and repairable and the motor has a 10 year warranty)
man the 224 area code is working overtime with spam calls today
We're having this argument at work right now. When people self-select to take a survey, it is not random! "Statistical significance" and "representative" cannot apply! (Leadership wants to say our survey that 1k people took is "representative" of our entire 40k membership and we just can't.)
