Certainly not.

The passengers don't seem at all impressed either.

Broke Britain will never build this world-leading rail project. Here’s why You can’t fault architects for their ambition. Just as the rest of us were thinking Britain’s trains were consigned to a miserable future of constant mediocrity along comes a proposal that could once ...

Wait, let's get this right.

So you can write a piece about an architect's fantasy as if it MIGHT be viable; get it published in a national newspaper AND get paid for it?

We're in the wrong business 🀦

True. But the UK's current 'fix' of going full pelt for discontinuous electric + batteries is a bit concerning.

Ought to just do a Proper Job, at least on main routes.

Why has the world's first hydrogen double-decker fleet failed? The multi-million pound project in Aberdeen was meant to be the future of clean public transportation.

Hmmm...never thought hydrogen was a serious 'alternative fuel' contender for most public transport anyway.

Fortunately @lothianbuses.bsky.social seems to have focussed on 'lectric.

(Also applies to trains. Battery weight is still a problem though.)

Closed bus stops survey With all the road works taking place across Edinburgh, it is apparent that there are many bus stops that have been removed/closed (permanently or temporarily) for more than a month. Please help us …

NEW on our website:
edinburghbususers.group/closed-bus-s...

Help us get a handle on how many bus stops have been removed or closed (permanently or temporarily) for more than a month.

Tell us about them on our short survey form!

Case in point: @lothianbuses.bsky.social quietly (as is their wont) observing that we'll need bigger bus stops eventually.

Bus journey times being 'killed by congestion' in cities The industry warns that traffic jams are slowing average bus speeds and are calling for more priority measures for buses.

Not aware of research disaggregating the effect of each factor in congestion: traffic levels, roadworks, non-enforcement (& CEC removing bus priorities!)
The message re the 43 & 38 is the 43, which benefits from priority measures, lost less time over the years than

Also: IOHO red stone chips should be reserved for applications set out in the Edinburgh Street Design Guide e.g. bus and cycle lanes, not scattered willy-nilly so they become meaningless to road users.
