This is part of a bigger organizational project tool I am working on, and in the end might be overkill for many. Currently it wouldn't be useful for anyone aside from developing tools that need to reference user defined footage and comp metadata.

Things like "comments" or "tape name" don't seem writeable, so I worked up a method of using a "tag data" comp that stores metadata in text layers referencing the item ID.
So who needs tags/metadata in After Effects?
