Shhh, don't tell my friends over on Mastodon!
Shhh, don't tell my friends over on Mastodon!
A page from a photo album with black and white photos. Under each photo is a short description written neatly in pencil. This is how it's done.
A page from one of my grandfather's photo albums. He knew how to do it. I have 24 more albums yet to scan.
When I tire of one thing, I try a different thing...so...
I've been hand-wringing myself into a frenzy over my Mastodon/Fediverse handle and instance and everything. I could just move to Bluesky and not think about it. Would I hate myself?
I love reading about how others think about this stuff. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. I'll have to look into something internal. I've never had the courage to try filing anything :)
Love it. How are you doing the borders? I use a slightly-smaller bit of card stock jammed in a corner and a couple of extra short exposures, but it's kind of a hassle.
Screenshot of a note: "Friday, December 13, 2024 I have not made any progress. With anything. Good job, Jack."
One of those mornings
Index card saying, "Non Colligo, Sed Seligo" ("I don't collect, I select")
Just another lie I tell myself
I love the contact sheets I get out of the proof printer, but it's so much more work that sometimes I'd rather just go back to dropping the printfile sleeves on a sheet of paper. :). Worth it, though.

Black and white film photo of my grandson in his high chair, waiting patiently for lunch.
I get why people think on-camera flash photos can look a little too snapshot-ey, but I kind of dig it. Here's Lincoln waiting patiently for his lunch.

Film development canister and reels on my counter.
Always a good sign.

I already don't like it

Several silver gelatin prints hanging to dry in my darkroom-slash-bathroom.
I love making prints in the darkroom

While re-reading βDigital Minimalismβ by Cal Newport last night, I mustβve put the book down to check my phone at least a dozen times. Iβm doing it wrong.
For 2025, rather than figuring out my best option for taking notes, I should instead just stop writing things down.
Just continue pretending I'm not here.
My grandson and I, "playing in the balls" this morning
This morning was a good morning.
Mirro self-portrait with Canon 1Ds
"The EOS-1Ds is a full-frame 11.1-megapixel digital SLR camera body made by Canon in the 1Ds series, released on 24 September 2002. The ~11 megapixel, full size 35mm digital camera was far ahead of other cameras counting usually much fewer megapixels, and having smaller size frame. The price was $7,999 in 2002 (equivalent to $13,550 in 2023)." -- Wikipedia
Speaking of vintage digital, it's my annual exercise-the-1Ds-from-2002 day. A friend gave me this one when he upgraded to the Mark II in 2004.

I've reached a point in my process of changing things where I'm sick of changing things and just want to go back to the most recent stable save point.
Steve Martin in "The Jerk" walking down the sidewalk carrying a chair and other items. The caption reads, "... and that's all I need..."
I don't need ANY of this!...
Just Mastodon and that's it!
And Bluesky...
Mastodon and Bluesky and that's all I need!

Big fan of Naxatras. They just posted a full concert and it's pretty great: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUJh...

Me: ::Plays with another social network::
I think I'll sign off for a while. Not due to moderation issues or any other real or imagined transgressions, but because I don't need another social network right now. Honestly, I don't need *any* social network right now.
Closeup of a yellow 45 RPM record insert.
Couldn't find my 45 adapter so I bought a handful of these yesterday at the record store.
i once grasped for love a short hold i had, for it was wrenged free leaving my hands, and heart bleeding and me spiraling ever down to a dark place where the blood from wounds of emotion slowly drips and dries forming a crust too hard to cushion my fall
This was on the last page of my high school algebra notebook.
There was a boat named the "Myassis Dragon" on the river near where we camped when I was young. It still makes me laugh because I'm still 12.
