Indeed, you lose the trust. When you are an external consultant at a customer, you don't want to vendor lock them in something that could cause them headache later due to licensing.
For example, somebody who is unaware of the licensing change could update the NuGet packages to latest version.
I tried with GitHub Copilot Chat and with a suitable prompt, it could change the Asserts to the test framework's syntax. Saves at least a bit time.
Those are possible replacements, of course :)
This was a surprise, for sure. It is a nice tool, but not that vital that I couldn't live without.
So, I'm changing to native asserts and removing the dependency - especially in customers' projects.
