I think Ramadan and Ash Wednesday have about a 1 in 84 chance of lining up, if I understand correctly. Ash Wednesday has a 1/7 chance of being the day of a new moon, and then 1/12 (or 1/13?) chance it's the new moon that Ramadan starts on.

The way matrices get taught is so ridiculous. IIRC it's functionally indistinguishable from "here's some spreadsheet code we wrote in Excel, now memorize it".

It's hard to tell, but it also looks like the rings don't interlock the way they're supposed to.
I can only conclude that the IOC fully approves of this rendition of its most important trademark.

That's what I did, too. And the rubric text included the translations (pass, conditional pass, retry).
I was entering grades on canvas using the same codes, so it made sense. Some students absolutely interpreted them as points, although few if any tried to add up the points, so that's progress.
