happy 2nd anniversary to the most important piece of bluesky lore
10% is likely the floor in this case, as somewhere between 5 and 7% have already been taken down. So higher.
Let me know if you find all the off label Wordle clones. I ended up implementing a rule to exclude all those posts from analysis to keep them from clogging up my reports, heh.
This one has been on the list for a while. There is (was?) a whole cluster of accounts with the same persona all doing the exact same bit in various languages.
sad face next to current checkmark alignment, happy face next to checkmark with more left padding and a bit more top padding

It depends on what "verification" represents. Ask multiple people and you will get different answers in response.
Also, the social graph is not part of the core protocol.
I'm sure everyone will be very normal about this
@xblock.aendra.dev classifies those sorts of images. And if you read through Aendra'a posts, you'll quickly get a sense of why image classification is exceptionally difficult.
Imo, it isn't just about the compute required- there's also the overhead of dealing with erroneous classifications.
More data showing that 85%+ of accounts just read/lurk. This is important because it means that very active fake accounts (often hundreds of accounts controlled by one person or organization) can easily dominate conversations, creating the illusion of consensus or popularity. 1/2
You're absolutely right about this. There are a fairly significant number of people who are engagement farming with tools on their otherwise normal accounts.
And at least one new tool pops up every week.
It's very difficult to analyze the numbers without first separating follows from starter packs from regular follows. I recommend treating them separately for the purposes of analysis.
Your New Lunch Habit Is Hurting the Economy More people are bringing lunch to work and restaurants are selling fewer lunches than they did in 2020

Literally just saw my log file and thought that was odd. You should be off the list within the next several minutes.

restaurant profit margins are thin enough, but any restaurants that heavily feature coconut milk, fish sauce, gochujang, teff, berebere, cumin, sichuan pepper, avocado, black vinegar, chili crisp oil, cardamom, tamarind, or soy sauce are in for a world of pain
As of right now some but not all of these accounts are currently on my moderation list, due to safeguards that are in place to prevent a single network from overloading the setup I use to maintain the list.
They will eventually all be added.
screenshots of bluesky accounts with repeated biographies: "Ireland based, interested in travel", "Netherlands based, interested in fashion", "Turkey based, interested in technology", and "United Kingdom based, interested in coding"
Earlier today, someone created a massive network of empty Bluesky accounts with repetitive biographies such as "Ireland based, interested in travel", "Netherlands based, interested in fashion", "Turkey based, interested in technology", and so on.
Thus far, the purpose of these accounts is unclear.
I believe these are from the same network operator that you noticed the other day, should be able to confirm that soon.

Sort of. The actual Bloomberg terminal posted an incorrect headline which was quickly fact checked but not before driving a major swing.
