A screenshot of the Godot editor. There is a game being played, but it is frozen and the editor's stack trace/error tab says "Assertion failed: you gotta implement get_metrics you dingus doofus"
called out by my own game ππ

The comment field on GitHub. I've typed in "Glad to hear it! :D" The GitHub emoji selector has suggested and highlighted the "dagger" emoji, and also has suggestions for "dancers", "dancing men", "dancing women", and "dango".
Thank you GitHub, that was exactly what I wanted!
LOOK MA THEY PUT ME IN THE BLOG POST π₯Ή π

Photo of a cat taken with a wide angle lens. As a result, the cat's nose appears extremely disproportionately large compared to the rest of its face.

Screenshot of a notification on an Apple Watch. "Nancy Guthrie disappearance: Nancy Guthrie's family is offering a reward of up to $1..." There's presumably more, but the OS decided to truncate the text at that point.
Unfortunate text truncation 2 electric boogaloo
Email item in Outlook. The subject line of the email is "[godotengine/godot] Add meth..." (truncated due to lack of horizontal space). The sender is listed as "Danil Alexeev, A Thousan..." and the preview of the message content says "@dalexeev commented on this pull request. I..." (both also truncated).
A sneak peek of what might be coming to Godot 4.7 π³
I feel like such an old person when news coverage of the Olympics comes on, because they put up charts about the medal counts and whatnot, but I just sit there thinking "well I hope they're all having a fun time out there and making happy memories! :)"
IKEA is a metroidbrania
This has startling lore implications for the Nancy continuity
Discordβs age verification stuff has a lot of people talking about finding an alternative to it, and IRC is one of the popular ones
Considering gamedevs work on games more often than they breathe, a more challenging game jam premise would be to explicitly disallow game development for a week. The Literally Anything Else Jam.
Out of scope :(
Sam Bankman: guy who runs a shitty version of a bank
Sam Altman: guy who runs a shitty version of an "alt-ernative" to humans
Huh
I briefly got Sam Bankman-Fried and Sam Altman mixed up in my head and was *very* confused for a good few moments
TL;DR Unity -> Godot transition: after 13 years in unity, it took me 4-6 weeks of getting adjusted, and now iβll never go back. it has quirks, like other engines. thereβs bugs. but itβs free, basically equally capable, and well reported issues get fixed quicker than in unity (sometimes within hours)
There's so much potential in this name...
Aesop: In my fable I invented the Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs as a cautionary tale
Adobe: At long last, we have killed the Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs from classic fable Don't Kill the Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs
I feel bad because I know it's nothing compared to the actually-bad things that happened, but one of my takeaways from the released files has just been "wow this guy could NOT write for shit". Like jeez I have better grammar in Discord messages I write while half-asleep at 2 AM
I would like to not be so angry all the time. It's not good for me, it's not good for you. I wish there were not so many things making me angry.
Congrats on having at least 100 subscribers!! π₯³
Screenshot of an open pull request on GitHub, titled "Update CLAUDE.md to add a bullet point about licensing". The author's text reads: "One major concern that BlueSky users have about AI is its potential for violating copyright. This commit adds an instruction for AI coding agents, telling them not to do that."
I was browsing open PRs for the Bluesky mobile app, and pack it up yall we've solved the problem of AI potentially violating copyright. We will just ask it to not Do That
I stared at this post for an embarrassing number of seconds before realizing that βStingraysβ probably refers to not, like, the animal.
