The most important thing for me has been staying in close community with other writers who have similar values and vision to mine. My writer friends help me keep my eyes on what I want to create and why. They help me keep perspective on reader feedback, and trust that the right readers will find me.
"feels like the book the author wanted to write" hit so hard. I long for this! I'm so hungry for books that feel like they came out of *one particular person* and don't have all their funky corners sanded down!

Yeah! It's called either Earth or 4 Elements: Earth depending where you look. Very enjoyable if you're in the mood for high melodrama.
It's the first in a series of linked stories about a quartet of lesbian cousins, hence the "4 Elements" prefix
I love this show for taking that theme all the way to the edge... and then bringing us back, of course. But that's to come.
