that part pissed me off only because i immediately thought of like three other jokes that would've been funnier (maybe Megan is busking or joke about how no one would react to someone getting stabbed on a train in NY) but instead its literally the "did you guess my pronoun" joke i've seen 100 times

or hell even last summer's Naked Gun was still really funny while commenting on how our relationship with fun cop media has changed. the problem isn't that people are scared to have fun or make jokes anymore, context changes humor, this is joke writing 101 stuff, guys

man, i saw Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie in a full theater and it was the hardest i laughed with a crowd in over decade AND that movie had multiple really good jokes/gags about humor/things we did 20 years ago that we Just Don't Do Anymore now. you can do this shit without punching down, guys.
