The only possible conditions to buck this might be a private company, with no investors, making a huge surplus in revenue, and sharing profits with an organized labor force.

I wish I understood this when I was younger, but the promise sold to millennials in tech was 'this time would be different.'

You may have experienced this in a job, past or present and thought... "this isn't right...this company is terrible", or being run poorly.

This is a misunderstanding. This is the systems working as intended. Aggressively pushing risk down from investors and shareholders, to workers.

To function as intended, capitalism has a fundamental need to strip workers of power. Regardless of company, location, job title, or tenure.

Individual contributors are left holding the bad, middle management is left with an illusion of safety or power, and all but the top executives are protected.
