I use Mastodon more than anything now and some instances have their own Matrix server which is nice for chatting. I tend to stick with sevices that are run by furries.

It just sucks that modern things go from good to shit and then it’s all about finding the better alternative. This is why I like Mastodon, if an instance sucks you can move to another, if an instance is bad it can be blocked on a server level. Maybe a federated chat service is the answer.

Woohoo! After many hours of printing over the past few weeks all the parts for my current project are done. Now for some assembly.

I miss AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, and IRC. IRC is still a thing and I think ICQ is still kicking. None of which would be a good Discord alternative.

My job has basically no pay raises, after 6 months you get a small raise then again after 12. After that there is no more raises and they make overtime mandatory because nobody wants to come in. We get paid well but it’s not that great of a place.

It’s great that Linux can bring new life to older devices. I’ve been using Linux since the late 90’s and never felt that I had to upgrade hardware to make the OS run better.

“A bit more control” is the exact reason that I prefer Mastodon. First, is not so much moderation but I host my own Pixelfed instance where I can control the quality of image uploads and how many per post. Secondly, as a moderator we just ensure that the content is legal, safe, and don’t judge.

Mastodon is really chill. It’s moderated per instance not globally. I find myself using Mastodon more than Bsky.

Yeah, they are pretty calming just having them around.

I don’t think eBay cares what people sell. Their TOS says you’re not allowed to sell pre-order items but when I reported people for selling the Switch 2 a week before it was released with a description of “Ships as soon as it’s released on [date]” they said it didn’t violate any terms.
