Look the basic arithmetic at play here is pretty clear. The Dems are more afraid of the Republicans than their own voters, or they're actively collaborative, or both.
(The closest we probably got to a labour lead revolution in the US—followed then by Nordic model style policies—was The Great Depression, then the Great Upheaval of 1877, then the strike wave of 1886. All three were times where the majority of Americans had no access to imperial superprofits)
—it fucks us over in the medium and long term too. The whole of both American history and Capitalist history points to the impossibility of full Socialism, and likely even a full Nordic model, reaching the core state of the Imperial-Core, the belly of the beast, while imperialism is still active.
If we break that strictness, it not only violently brutalises the Global South—ripping Gazan children to shreds with bombs filled with blades, mass starving Venezuelans with collective-punishment "war crime" sanctions, violently upholding child wage slavery in the DRC
Those instances of improvement have to *strictly* not come at the cost of supporting imperialism though, like when Mamdani unintentionally manufactured consent for regime change in Venezuela and Cuba by releasing his public statement to The Latin Times.
While reducing American imperialism, I also obviously do want us to have better lives and I think the only way that significantly happens is through American Progressivism such as the Working Families Party, DSA, Mamdani, Abughazaleh, Fateh, etc.
And unlike Code Pink, their engagement with electoral politics means their anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, analysis gets spread to many more people than would otherwise happen. Because of that, I believe they can functionally contribute semi-strongly to reducing American imperialism.
