i cringe when i see on the dating site someone with a large back tattoo.

because those are damn expensive, and tattoos don't mean anything anymore, there's nothing badass about them. people just shovel money to pay for one and it's done.

usually around Spring or so, i do a diagnostic calculation of my e-bike battery health, to get a rough idea of when i should expect to replace the battery.

it helps to have a charger that reads out volts and amps, and i have an understanding how battery charging works.

in sharp contrast, when i do some basic things with a debian/ubuntu based live image, mostly it 'just works'. i get things sorted and i'm done and moving on.

i've seen people on forums recommending Fedora to noobs, and no way i'd recommend it.

recently toyed around with a Fedora live image, booted from it, tried to get some basic things done, and was surprised at how little progress i made.

why that's important to me is that i expect to be able to do some basic recovery tasks if my system fails. and i found that Fedora was hard.

quite moved by today's e-bike ride,

23 miles, and some genuine effort, resistance, continual movement, a real work out. my brain chemicals have me in full relaxation mode, and my muscles are thanking me.

this winter kicked my ass by forcing too much down time, i'm glad to be BACK

i forgot to add, the .30 is based on a 54.6V x 3.00 Amp charge rate.

i haven't calculated the value for a 2Amp charge rate, sorry

the extra 30 minutes is the typical Li-ion absorption time added on to each charge.

figured out a shortcut to calculate the 48V e-bike battery charge time based on the voltage level at the end of the ride.

so let's say when i finish a ride, i'm at 49 Volts,

i subtract, 54.6-49= 5.6
and multiply 5.6x0.30= 1.68 hours
and add 30 minutes, 1.68+0.5= 2.18 hours
