Another day, another disappointing book!
Another day, another disappointing book!
I am NOT having a good reading year in 2026 lol
The cover looks like a Gossip Girl-esque type situation with, like, clubbing teens on it, and then it SWERVED into science fiction and I still don't understand where that happened.
I read a book today that just. Baffled me. It got halfway through and then took a HARD turn into another genre.
Honestly yeah! XD
So they were all coworkers and it was like light enemies to lovers so for a while it just felt like he was NEEDLESSLY antagonistic and getting very much in the way of the romance XD
LITERALLY WAS MY THOUGHT. There were a couple other women in the book and I kept being like, "Ooh I wonder which one is gonna be the love interest AND WHY IS THIS MAN BEING ANNOYING IN MY LESBIAN BOOK????"
I'm not gonna lie I did read like 50 pages of a romance novel once thinking it was a lesbian romance and wondering why a man was there.
Yeah but if I'm reading a romance I don't want everyone to die.
Knowing there's a monster at the end of the book only works if I'm reading There's a Monster at the End of This Book, not the Poky Little Puppy.
Why is the dust jacket of this book all rough
The way it rubs against other books almost made me gag
Why are we making books with bad textures though
Like latex and bananas and such
*nods* For weird fantasy, Someone to Build a Nest In for sure then.
Okay I'm very tired, is it fantasy combined with mystery you're looking for here or weird fantasy AND weird mystery, separate?
πWhat book
The cover of The Lonely Below by g. haron davis
Am finished, and the book was excellent. The cover is also stunning. I'm using it for a prompt in one of my reading challenges this year, and I just love the cover. It's as stunning in person, too.
So far the book is very good also
This photo is not doing these endpapers justice but holy these are pretty
If horror is good, then Nothing But Blackened Teeth and Our Wives Under the Sea
Slow cooker that!
Everyone who is like 40-60 has trauma around pork chops because in like the 60s-70sish we started to breed pigs to be much leaner. Add to people in that era having really big fears of trichinosis, and suddenly no one knew how to cook pork anymore
Softened water, maybe. When we had a water softener we had a separate tap for drinking water
Oh, baby kidneys can't process a lot of salt. You don't have to be that strict, but you are supposed to limit. Kinda similar to how babies can't have water before a certain age
Yes but specifically my pet peeve is when people say "bloated" when what they are is "full".
I have a pet peeve about that
Though GLASS is different and I admit I didn't fully read that lol
Oh yeah the anti iodide brigade is huge
Man, I AM a picky eater (ARFID, probably) and I still ask that. At least half my problem is my mother could not cook
I like those movies a stupid amount XD
Thanks, lol. I don't actually enjoy ground beef in most situations, but my mother grew up eating them and she loves them.
