Took a long time grinding the Lab Ray before I got lucky enough for the color swap to Alien.
Here are a few of my pets that I've decorated almost exclusively with NeoPoints (and not the real money NeoCash) since I'm proud of them.
It's honestly as good a time as any to get into it.
There are seasonal events giving away fairly high-powered items you can easily flip for lots Neopoints. Plus there are great resources like Jellyneo.
However, know that a lot of cool cosmetics are paywalled behind a pretty arcane gacha system.
I've played on and off for a couple of years after reclaiming my old account.
I haven't had any issues personally, but I also keep my head low and don't participate in much of the on site social stuff like guilds and forums.
Mostly just do dailies and decorate my pets.

My first tattoo went over my collarbone and I almost jumped outta my skin. So I can only imagine basically an entire session of that.
The ribs might be the most painful spot for a tattoo, so it's all smooth sailing from here if you decide to get more in the future.
