New pre-parade tradition. I always park out the box in the Napoleon/Daniel area. Used to eat at Manale's because Charlie's didn't open until 5:30. They're open at 3:30 this week so here I am waiting on my ribeye with the "small" onion rings.

Chemtrails were on point earlier.
Late to the party here but I had a great experience at the Hotel Sint Nicolaas in Amsterdam recently.
Death ray by the Causeway.
Caught a little bit of opening day at the Fair Grounds. It was magic! Turned $20 into $2 just like that.
Looked cooler in person but oaks/sun/fog combo got me out of my car to snap a shot leaving for work this morning.
All Saints Day visit with the family at our future home in St. Louis 1.
Taste-testing these oddly-illustrated Parisian Lay's chips. They taste like regular Lay's BBQ. Disappointing!
Thanks!
Made it to Paris.
By the way, Amsterdam is cute and all but the weather here is like the most miserable February day in New Orleans. 49 degrees, driving rain and bone-chilling wind.
I'm in Amsterdam and my camera alarm has been going off non-stop because of the thunder and lightning in NOLA. Hope everyone stays safe!
Was wondering about this because I had sneezed several times in public and no one said anything. Apparently, in the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, you sa, "Salud." But according to Reddit and confirmed IRL, in Spain...
It was supposed to rain today, so I am now spending a beautiful Madrid morning at the Lavanderia Presto-Plus (highly recommended).
Said cathedral from my hotel's balcony view.
Cool chemicals over the Catedral Primada de Toledo today.
Fixing to take the speed train to Toledo.
Big day in Madrid today. Saw Guernica at the Museo Reina Sofia along with the children learning about Dali & Miro, and some anti-n%#i posters from the 30s. Headed to Casa JuliΓ‘n de Tolosa for a Basque-style steak, walk back through El Retiro park and the best version of gambas a ajillo so far.
I like Spain, where they teach the children about Joan Miro and Salvador Dali.
They are really, really proud of their ham here.
Cider pouring contest at El FontΓ n Madrid.
9:30 at night and things are just starting to kick in Plaza Mayor.
I hope I'm not allergic to octopus π€π€π€
I know @blathering.bsky.social at least will appreciate that I got shushed by a docent in the Prado for talking to another tourist in front of their copy of the Mona Lisa.
Perfect for me, I always get the hot chocolate to dunk my beignets in anyway.
Around the corner there is another entire block of tapas bars. I only have 3 more days! πππ
It was a lot. I powered through it except all the cheese.
Iberico variety plate. Glad this place is at the top of the hill.
Tapas follow-up: Gambas al ajillo.
