We don't get to shrug and say "welp, worth it to get rid of the Ayatollah." These are human beings with lives and families and if you're acting like they're eggs you're breaking to make an omelet, you've lost the plot.
You cannot sacrifice OTHER PEOPLE without their consent.
Iranian people aren't NPCs that we get to just trade for our own convenience.
The whole point of war as a LAST resort is that in war, innocent people die. So even if every civilian death is necessary to accomplish your military aims, even if "collateral damage" is minimal...THAT'S STILL MURDER.
In front of the SF Federal Building:
Large crowd protesting the US-Israel war on Iran. Overcast sky and large industrial building in the background (SF Federal Building) Sign in the foreground that says โNO MORE BLOOD FOR ISRAELโ

#SF, ya'll better show up tomorrow if you're able! We need to get out there and get LOUD. NO WAR ON #IRAN!
Protestors standing outside in San Francisco near the Ferry Building. Focused on someone holding a large white sign with red text that reads "NO WAR ON IRAN".
Poster-sized sign on a stick, white background and black, bold text that reads "NO US-ISRAEL WAR ON IRAN". AnswerCoalition.org https://streamlabscharity.com/
These pictures from last year are unfortunately relevant again. NO WAR ON IRAN!

I started the game Resident Evil, via @truetrophies.com
I like that too! Feels right to add prominence that โPostโ button since itโs such a distinct/primary action, but still keep it in-line with the other nav items. I never was a huge fan of the floating circular button in the bottom-right pattern we see on Android (though maybe that era is over).
I totally agree! I can imagine a common case where users would tap โSearchโ in the nav and then their eyes would immediately move to the top of the screen expecting to see the text field, causing friction/confusion.
Also wondering about how 3P apps that use this interaction are going to react to this changeโฆwill Apple remove this pattern from their guidelines entirely and everyone will need to revert? Wouldn't be surprised to see Apple reverse course on other iOS 26 changes like this at #WWDC this year ๐ค
I'm expecting to see other apps like Music and News to follow suit in subsequent betas, but it will be interesting to see if apps like Settings or Mail also move the search field back to the top of the screen. They don't use the "embedded search bar in the navigation" pattern like other 1P apps do.
Not sure if they had positive results in user tests prior to release or what. While I understood the change on paper initially (text field is closer to the user's thumbs, saves on screen real-estate), shaking up such a common pattern was seemingly a risk that didn't pay off.
