I got recruited by a third static last night.
Some are fresh to the scene will go into M9S for the first time, but have Mythic-level exp from WoW. Who knows how much of that will translate over to FFXIV Raiding.
Ran some Roulettes with them and they seem to be a happy bunch. Hope it all goes well.

Happy 20th Anniversary!
No M10S clear tonight. Got up to the Arena Split and things went downhill.
The difference now is that I'm having second thoughts about this static versus being forced to quit.
The bad thing really is that I can't stream my progress -- I guess some folks don't like being streamed.
Maybe my thoughts will change after tonight though. Who knows.
What happened in my WoW days was that I was trialing for a raid guild. I did surprisingly well in my first week of raiding that the leader just dumped a usable main-spec Epic in my inventory. It felt almost like they're bribing me to stay.
Then IRL stuff happened, forcing me to quit the guild.
Though I'll admit that the vibes feel a bit on the "stiff" side. I'm not sure what to think of it.
The raid leader said I'm guaranteed the gloves if they drop, which is great! I wasn't expecting loot this week, but I welcome it.
Yet, this reminds me of a similar thing happening in my WoW days...
3rd day with this static.
Progress is moving faster than I anticipated. A welcomed result, but I won't lie that I miss my original static from 2 years ago.
Cleared M9S on Thursday for the first time and got up to Watery Grave on M10S yesterday. Assuming all goes well, we should finish M10S tonight.
I think I like how these glamours are turning out.
I'll post them on the Eorzea Collection after my raid tonight.
Trying out for my second raid static.
The first one tried to force me to play a job class that I have no experience raiding with.
The second one has me questioning the deeper characteristics of the raid leader.
We'll see how this goes. I feel like I should option-select to my Bridget glamour.
I've been using FFXIV more as a posing tool and making OCs with the glamour system along with other things, than actually playing the game.
It's been an amazing and relaxing experience so far. I guess I could write a story about them.

While I was setting up a network switch in my room, I just found out that one of the ports on my router is fried.
There's Enabled, Administratively Disabled, and Fucking Fried.
Yeah -- looks like I might be in the market for a new router.
It's a wild thought because C. Viper is the only character I play using the default costume+color ...
And for the same reason as Ed Cos1/Col2 -- I have a nostalgic attachment to Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX.
It's weird because Mecha-Gief came out on the same day, which I guess is--Future Steiner?
It's been 129 days since I've quit drinking energy drinks.
Since then, the only drinks I've been consuming have been water, tea, and diet soda.
Though I'll admit that even though the soda is "diet," it probably isn't all that healthy to drink.
I played Ed for the entire casual Lobby Night today.
I never felt like I was in some flow state while playing this character until tonight.
The difference? I swapped costumes and colors.
The screen said: "Costume 1, Color 2"
My head said: "Gen. Beatrix Colors" and Ed's hair was the face mask.
I ordered some networking equipment to hard-wire some stuff around my room. I guess I can finally play fighting games on my laptop without inadvertently griefing my opponent with a flaky Wi-Fi connection.
73 Zelenia EX clears later and I got my first set of Wings.
I have maybe lost count of the number of times I have sung the lyrics to Erutan's cover of the song that plays for this boss encounter.
But it was all worth it!
I guess I can go back to The Streets now.
I did commentary for @fightrise.com's BLKO Extra Innings yesterday. I feel a lot more confident in doing this than my previous appearances. I felt even more hyped when @jwonggg.bsky.social raided the stream with almost 200 people. I feel grateful for it. Thanks for checking in!

Turns out I also have to empty my private chambers in the Free Company before gquitting!
Dang! While I don't have any beef with the Free Company, I hate to think what it's like for someone in a toxic relationship with their FC and want to leave but couldn't because of FC restrictions. That's wild!
On a side note, it's wild how I have to pack EVERYTHING and relinquish my contracts if I want to leave servers. Sort of like moving out in real life, I guess.
But it is what it is. The new server is going to feel interesting and fresh.
Been with my Free Company for 11 years and I bid myself farewell on their Discord.
I feel I need to move on, but I will always be forever grateful for their company. Shout out to @psoflow.bsky.social (Lily and Meta) for keeping things rather cozy after all these years.
