I've been working on re-doing the ride/cargo choosing screens in my game (it was just a black screen with a floating item before). There's still stuff I want to tweak anyway so any feedback is welcome!

I added honking and yes it's fun and yes it's a game mechanic

I've been working on Exit 3A: The Game (a game about an interstate exit in Charlotte) using the #bevy game engine and got invited to a local event to showcase the game and it was really cool
#mewgenics on #steamdeck protip: bind L4 and L5 to A and B so that you can have your right hand free to pet your cat and give them treats
I made a survey for the playtests of my game and people said I had great questions (they're somewhat based on "ffwwdd"). here's one of the surveys with responses. It's been pretty helpful to ask the same set and see how it changes across play tests while I address feedback.

were you able to sleep after?
thanks! I keep doubting it, so I really appreciate that ๐
a screenshot of my video game about driving through exit 3a is overlayed over the wallpaper which shows the same imagery as part of a collage of Charlotte references and in the forefront is a delicious burger
this local burger restaurant (ACE No. 3 in Charlotte) opened their new spot in the city center and art from my game is featured on the walls and it's sooo cool
throughout making this and play testing it I've found doing the simple solution works because the player fills in the blanks. I've lost count of the amount of times people point to something cool that happened and it's always because "the AI is dumb"
I added a replay system and camera controls to my game and I'm having too much fun now #bevyengine
Exit 3A at night ๐๐
I got inspired by the trend and wanted to make one myself of my game. How'd I do?

hey hey, watch the interview the local #PBS station did of me and the game I'm making about Exit 3A in Charlotte using the #bevyengine

The local PBS station interviewed me about my game and it's on TV right now ๐ฃ๏ธ๐
A little side-by-side of the progress I've made the past few months on my Exit 3A game

I'm trying to get a better idea of the expectations people have of my game. When you see clips like this, what do you think the gameplay is like?
#videogames #gamedev #indiedev
I realized today when I export a glb from blender and import it into another blend file, it almost triples the number of vertices
a clip of my game went viral where I live and it's been really surreal
the hardest thing about #gamedev is deciding.. bug or feature? bug? feature? ..bug? ...feature
I've done it. I've captured realistic traffic behavior
While working on my game using the #bevyengine, I keep tweaking and iterating on my vehicle controller (using @jondolf.bsky.social's Avian physics) and it's getting close, I can feel it. #gamedev
thanks! that's good feedback. I think striking that balance of responsive yet challenging controls is going to be the tricky part
thanks! I'm still chipping away at it. Can I ask what about it seems fun?
A couple short clips on this starting area of the game I'm making with the #bevyengine. I try to switch between coding and blender to avoid burning out but the code keeps calling to me
I'm having such trouble making clips of what I'm working on without it also affecting performance
I added some bushes to my game and of course my friends suggested using the bushes for clouds because mario
"haha yeah dude, for sure"
Clouds are hard.
I think I'm on the right track though

does anyone have the sheet music for a Samsung washer and a Samsung dryer finishing their cycles almost at the same time
thanks! It's hard to gauge... I started in February but worked on it off and on and also worked on 3 other games this year. I've also been using Bevy since like 0.4. If you're curious though, the bevy jam entries are great examples of what's possible in a short time frame.
